ZaZ FC

by ZaZ, Oct 21, 2022

Welcome to ZaZ FC! It's great to have you here. As your guide, I'm responsible for your induction program, explaining the culture of our club, and how you can achieve maximum performance here.

Below is the type of manager I expect you to be.

- Determination: Get what you want from board.
- People Management: Increase morale with praise / warn.
- Level Discipline: Less unhappy players.
- Motivating: Team talks and shouts.
- Training: Any 5 star and Working With Youngsters.

For training, I prefer if you avoid GK training and Fitness, because coaches for those positions can also train youth and reserve teams. Having you as a coach for Attacking, Defending and Mental can potentially give us one extra coach for youth and reserve teams.

Hi ZaZ, i haven't played Fm in a while now, looking forward to Fm 23, hope you continue these great tactics that you gave us for Fm 22 mate, thank you.

1

legend, exactly what i followed  you on twitter for

Thanks, @alexej and @Joe! Gonna use this thread to do a diary of information while I test everything. I am checking the new instructions for out of possession before I post Blue and Green, which will be the base benchmark for my testing.

2

can't wait to see the new tactics! I'm testing the old ZaZ green right now with Newcastle

Here are the initial versions of Blue 4.0 and Green 5.0, converted to FM23. I'm currently testing the new instructions from out of possession to see how they perform.

P.S.: I have decided to rename of Blue and Green to Fire and Frost, respectively. The change is to avoid confusion on FM22 players. Let me know how they perform for you!

Some results with Fire (former Blue).

Would't be better to call former Blue "Frost" and former Red call Fire? :D Just a suggestion ;)

Blue is very offensive, one of the highest goals per match from FM22, which is why I call it Fire. Green is very defensive, with one of the best defenses, which is why I call it Frost.

I am still testing, and it seems like Frost is not doing as well as last year. Fire (former Blue) is still good, so I would just use it until more results appear.

There was not time to test yet, so I'm keeping the old setup.

Sometimes I get some absurd results like 163 goals with Manchester City in holiday mode (120 goal difference), and that gives motivation to follow in that direction. Most of the times it is just luck, but it's nice to feel like there is something broken just waiting to be discovered.

what results does it produces with less overpowered teams? :)

Around 100 goals with teams like Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest. Anyway, tests are good, and I also started a collaboration with Max from Evidence Based Football Manager, so results should come soon.

Hi Zaz - are you not doing the "trap outside" instruction? From memory, you had that on the Fm22 iteration of these tactics

I'm testing the influence of Trap Inside x Trap Outside x Default at the exact moment.

Meanwhile, here is an improvement of Fire (former Blue).

Thank you! The more feedback, the better.

Hi Zaz, really love ur tactic. It's really entertaining but sometimes it's hard to retain the advantage even when I change the mentality to cautious/defensive. Any suggestion on that? I currently use Fire 0.2 on my second season Palace, it's good so far. I beat Barcelona in their home in a crazy thriller match :D

Sorry, I didn't do enough testing yet to know what's the best way to hold a score yet. I assume changing to cautious can help, but it's just my opinion based on last version. However, the nature of this tactic is to have high risk and high reward, and despite taking some goals, it will usually outscore the opponent and have one of the highest goal differences around. The fact that Crystal Palace won against Barcelona in their home says a lot about the ability to overperform.

thanks for your reply ZaZ. Actually, with ur tactic it's easier to turn back the score when my team lost in HT. I slam em in the team talk and just keep give the encouraging shout, then suddenly i match the score :D. When im ahead, I usually change the winger to defensive winger but mostly it didn't work with teams like city, liverpool, n for fck sake MUTD. But still ur tactic is wonderful, so thanks ZaZ

Can't be helped. The tactic can only do so much, and the extra quality on players will always make some difference. Thanks for the compliment, though!

Board is way more willing to fire managers in FM23. During my experiments, I was fired a couple of times with Manchester City even after scoring over 90 pts in the league. Apparently, I'm refusing to attend emergency meetings by the end of the season, which results in them kicking my ass. Maybe they could wait a few more days for the end of my one year vacation. =D

that thing with emergency meeting by the end of the season is annoying as hell, I don't know maybe it's bugged or something

I have yet to see that emergency meeting in live play, but if I remember well, there are some new meetings for the squad planner if you have too many players unavailable (for example, injured), or if you are losing too much and they think you need to improve squad.
