My only gripe is the very unrealistic corner routine, which obviously is a huge exploit. How will the tactic work if I remove the routine? Is corner goals what makes this tactic?

Or are there similar good tactics like this, but withough corner exploit?

Nah,you can play with Near to post and Near to post, results will be more or less the same. You will try to win more rebounds on the area.
And to abuse for real the "routine" you should play on VA, but on away games and in general will be a suicide.
If you mean all the set pieces, you can try with default ones. You gonna lose overall like 7-10 (or even more) points just by that, set pieces is what really make the difference between a medium or good tactic.

You can always just take a default tactic like 4-2-3-1 Tiki Taka or Gegenpress with default set pieces. It will work well enough and it sound like that's what you are after. No exploits. Standard tactic and then just reliant on your managerial ability with the squad. There are many ways to play this game.

Thanks Mark.

I know it's a game, but a central defender scoring 30-40 goals a season is a bit too much.

I used the tactic "4231 Simple Positive Headache v2" before the update. Not played FM since the update, though.

That tactic fron DeliciousStory was not using corner exploit, but still overpowered (won CL with Rosenborg in like season 6).

If you make the corners to be less effective then the tactic also will become less effective. Seems quite obvious too me.

I know, quite silly, but other than the corner routine, how good is it?

I haven't played since update. Before that, as I said in my last post here, I used DeliciousStory 3231 Simple Positive Headache v2, which didn't have a defender scoring 40 goals, but the best "realistic" tactic out there by far.

One question though. Is it possibly at least to change the roles on corner from the central defender to, say the striker at least?

Will this corner routine have the same effect if I swap roles between DCR (Which seems to be primary goalscorer from corners) and STRIKER?

Or will the routine then fail?

If your striker as good as your central defender in the air then it'll work the same

You can use a tactic and put your own set piece routines in. Only changing the "target man" won't fix anything unless whoever you are targeting is terrible in the air.
