All the regens have had their ID changed to have "r-" in front of the ID number under the FM24.2.0 update. This means that the file that linked their face to their ID no longer works and will revert back to FM24 regen picture.
To fix this you can go to the folder that holds your NewGan faces, usually under C:\Users\"Your User Name"\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\graphics. For those using the recommended face pack it is DF11 Newgan.
In the NewGan Faces folder there should be a config.xml file. TIP: You can make a copy of this file to another location in case something goes wrong. You need to open this file (it should open in Notepad) and then highlight all the records by using Control A. Next use Control H to find and replace. In the Find section type "pictures/person/" without the " and in the Replace section type "pictures/person/r-" without the ". Click on Replace All. This should put "r-" in front of all the IDs which will then attach the picture to the correct record again.
Finally you will need to go to Preferences in the game and reload the skin. This will reload the faces using the correct new IDs.
I hope this works for you. It did for me after a bit of playing to figure out what had happened.
Also, this is the same problem for putting your own picture against your profile. Mine disappeared after the FM24.2 update. Copy your picture to the folder that holds your faces, I use DF 11 so it is the DF 11 folder under Graphics. Then update the config.xml file in that directory to link your ID to the file you have put in the directory.

This worked a treat for me but bear in mind when New Gens are produced they get a new ID so you'll need to follow the steps above again. I'm sure the folks who do the face packs will be aware of this and will be releasing something soon to resolve the issue
Appreciate the tips but I cant get it to work at all. Edited the config, saved, redid the whole process with Newgan manager and reloaded skin, still nothing. What have I missed?

Thank you so much!! I couldn't upload the xml file but here or in a message but are the screen dumps for the config file and the folder. Ive moved the rtf. file to this folder as well, did try to place it in Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024 too. That always worked in the past. Ofc there are more playser in the config file (around 12 000 I think)
I'm having the same issue the find and replace was completed correctly, i can see the ID in and also confirmed in the newgen app but in game it still shows the default face.
I even tried added ID before and still failed. I clear the cache in game still failed I went into appData delete preferences and caches and still failed

I apologise. There was a typo in my original post. If you now replace "/picture/" with "/pictures/" and reload the skin it should fix it. I have updated my original post if you want to start from scratch.

All the config files are individual to your game. So you cant really share them. I don't have a mac but can possibly help this time next week when my stepson is back from the coast. Is there anything like a text editor on Mac?
Hey, I really need you help as, after the update, some of my newgens faces completely disappeared. Is there any way I can get the default FM24 regens faces or get the NewGan manager faces to work? I've tried all the abovementioned steps and none of them work.

First question is have you used the Newgan Manager before the changes happened?
If not then sorry I don't think I can help you. If you had, please send me a copy or screen dump of your config file from the Newgan face pack

I do have a copy of that facepack but haven't used it. Do you have any other newgen facepacks installed, because when I look at the faces files they are a different structure to the config file. For example, caucasian directory doesnt have any pictures named caucasianXXX.png, they are AUSXXX.png, CANXXX.png, ENGXXX.png.
If I get time later in the week I might try and load it and see what my config file looks like with that newgen facepack.
I am using the first folder, the FMNEWGAN V2 + UPDATE as the last folder does not load the faces into NewGan Manager, I get the "map player to..." bug.
Can I suggest a couple of things and also ask for a couple of things as well. As I said I wont get a chance to download and test the faces pack you are using until later in the week. I use DF11 Newgan pack. I suspect there might be conflicts having 2 packs installed, can you either relocate the folder of the 2nd pack to a directory outside FM24 or at very least delete any config file in the pack you no longer use.
Also can you do a screen shot of the very start and very end of the config file you are using so I can make sure there is no code there that is a problem.

Now comes the issue:
With my main manager from Paris FC I see the old fm generated regen faces with the unemplyed manager I see the newgen faces.

. the config.xml file . the location and files in your graphics folder . the files in the newgan facepack you are using.
Can you tell me if you have more than one newgan facepack installed and if so can you try deleting or moving the folder the one you are not using as FM doesn't cope with trying to assign two images to one person.
Have you tried the suggestion in the opening post as FM changed the IDs for Newgens in their last update.

Both managers are indeed in the same save file.

Glad we could solve it without me having to use a Mac. The inbuilt editor in Mac called TextEdit worked for those with Macs.

Can you post a couple of screenshots of ones that don't work and their Unique IDs, and also a screenshot of the end of the Newgan.log file
