Can I just ask the whole community to thank the guys at FM Arena for their efforts today. They have tested 21 tactics in the last 9 hours, to the thoroughness that we are all after. This is an amazing effort and helps us all so much. I am sure many of you are like myself and are guided by the results. It has been so helpful over the last few years that I have been looking and participating.

I think they will test if someone creates a thread for them.
Its true @ZaZ you can load them straight in and play them. Also FM20 tactics. I haven't tried FM19 as they were strikerless and would not be so good in this version.
@Mark FM21 best tactics were mostly strikerless as well. This year seems a lot more balanced and realistic when it comes to how dominant a tactic can be. Either that or we haven't found the secret game-breaking formula yet.

I didn't know, I even converted Blue to FM22 manually. Now I feel dumb.

It doesn't seem very realistic this year, considering the tactic with the best defense takes over 1.5 goals per match.

Oh I def feel like there's way too much scoring. I just meant how you can't just create an unstoppable tactic anymore. I don't think anyone will beat 6.5 this year in tactic ratings, at least in this ME. My 3-5-2 is currently the best tactic defensively and it's got 1.5 goals against per match, as you say. You have to take into account though, that's in a league with extremely strong teams. If you take a top team with a great defence, you have good chances of conceding less than 1/game. I think my best testing season was 0.55 or 0.6 conceded/game with Man U using my 3-5-2.
Honestly I feel like the near post corner kick routine is boosting most tactics this year. When I see my centre-back scoring nearly a goal per game I know it's not a great year for match engine...

I think tactics are being held back by horrible defenses. We have the same attack power as last year, but defense is way leakier.

I really believe it's a match engine issue, defenses are just too leaky. Since I don't think we can solve that before next patch, we probably need to go for tactics with high scoring capabilities.
To confirm that, someone could test the best defense tactic from last year, like Stronghold or Copper, and see how they concede over 1.5 goals per match in FM-Arena table (it was around 1.0-1.1 last year).

To be clear it wasn't a knock on tacticians here, you guys are doing a tremendous job working with what match engine gives you. Unfortunately ME and AI behaviour look very unbalanced at the moment so very attacking + high number of corners seems to be the most effective approach right now. Hopefully a big ME update will come at some point, though honestly I don't expect it to happen...

We're planning to give it some more time and see what highest rating is possible in FM22 and then we'll start testing the attributes.

I would like to have a test league where you could take the top 20 tactics with teams equal and see how they ended up.
If I create a thread, would that count as my allowance of 10 tactics tested??

I think they would want at the very least to have all 10 tactics for plug and play, instead of having to convert it themselves.

What do you mean? I wouldn't be amending the tactics, just uploading them onto one thread for them to be tested

You would need to convert to FM22 and add set pieces, player instructions and such. Can you load tactics from FM21 directly on FM22?

Yeah, I have loaded many tactics from FM21 onto FM22

There never hasn't been any realism in FM and never will be because FM is just a PC game
