Goalkeepers attributes?

How do you guys choose GKs? Which attributes do you look for? If you could see CA would that be the deciding factor?

Agility and reflexes.

For me it's:

- Reflexes
- One On Ones
- Command Of Area
- Communication
- Handling
- Anticipation
-Concentration
- Agility

How have you come to that conclusion? Im ready to trust you blindly after the tactics youve created :) Just interested in the why

GK1 - Reflexes-18/Agility-13
GK2 - Reflexes-15/Agility-16

Which one are you signing?

I'm sure that that Reflexes is a more important attribute for a GK than Agility so I would go for GK1 - Reflexes-18/Agility-13 :)

Don't trust me blindly, lots of people here have way more knowledge about the game than me.

Anyway, a guy from China made a study about the importance of attributes to Blue 3.0 DM using machine learning, and his findings are in the first post of Blue thread, under "Important Attributes". I'm not saying it's a definitive thing, but I prefer to trust some robust test like that or FM-Arena's than just following my personal feelings.

About your two players, I think the difference between then is probably minimal and it would be better to look at other attributes as a tie breaker.

Interesting. So the results of that indicate Agility is more important if I am reading it right? Do the results of that correlate with the tests done on this site regarding attributes? Im assuming this is more specific to position and then specific to position in your tactic

In his tests, yes, it was more important. However, keep in mind that it's very hard to calculate the efficiency of attributes for goalkeepers, and his tests were done during last patch (probably won't be different in this patch, but you never know). Tests from FM-Arena didn't focus on specific positions, because you need an absurd number of runs to make the results meaningful.

You do need to be careful when you start just focusing on just the most important attribute to select players. For example, with the machine learning analysis there were 9 attributes with weightings at 50 or higher, with agility at 100. These attributes total nearly 600 between them. To just look at the attribute that makes up 16% of those, and just 7.5% of the total weightings for the position is risky. It doesn't seem like it would work to me. There maybe many GKs with low agility that score very high on the other 8 important attributes who are much better GKs. At least look at the top 5 attributes to make your decision. Agility, Reflexes, Strength, Acceleration and Concentration.

I wonder if having low Punching is more important than high Agility. Both are maxed in the table but the table doesn't go negative. Has anyone looked into this?

I think Agility is more important than Punching

Punching has zero weighting for GK, which means is a cost free CA point (-s). Agility from the other hand is very important; has 8.0, like Handling & Reflexes. Decision is 10.0 which is a "must have" for GK.
