3-3-3-1 Van gaal's Dream

3-3-3-1 formation used by Van gaal, Cruyff and Rinus michels using total football

-WCB to BPD and stay wider
-DLP to BWM
-IW to IF
-AM to SS
-Shorter passing

I find this formation situational, Im trying to figure out how to make this formation competitive into fm and it's engine; I've already improved it by 6 points and 8 G.D compared to the first version but it's still far from ceasing to be situational

Really the fact that it scored 32 points is a miracle. I'm not saying that to disparage you it's just that what you see on the tactical screen is your defensive system (out of possession) and since the weak point of the game has always been the flanks, you have no players in the flanks to defend.

Yes, It was strange, I've tried with a wider system and WCBs but got worse results, Idk why tho haha, In my main tactics I've always seen that prioritazing the flanks is a must, tbh I think this formation has a limited ceiling, maybe I can figure out small changes or tweaks as I did with the previous one but the tendencies act strange and I don't think it will improve much better, but I've enjoyed trying to work out one of my favourite irl systems with knowledge I've got from making more competitive tactics in fm until fm25 arrives haha

The system isn't incorrect. It's important to remember that the formation outlines your defense, while the roles determine your attack, to put it simply. Consider the system with this new perspective and construct it from the beginning.
