Trying to find less intense tactic

My players are always injured from the akutac 4-2-3-1 and I think that's why the young guys are not really developing well.

Just reduce the intensity of the tactic but if you do be mindful that you could also be risking your style of play

I would suggest making all your games played on wednesday and Saturday and then having 3x rest sessions only on Thursday and Sunday. And also setup auto test for no pitch or gym work unless full green. And when players are excellent condition but still tired again rest them for one day. You don't need to do the latter when playing one game a week but when two it's definitely the best thing to do.

@hunterfm This is the way. It's a game changer

Regarding the original question, from a starting point close to the META tactics, I do the following to increase possession and lower intensity:
In possession -> no pass into space, no run at defense, slightly lower tempo, waste time sometimes.
In transition -> slow pace down; no counter attack
Out of possession -> medium defensive line; mid block; medium pressing; no prevent short keeper distribution; no get stuck in; no step up more.
Then, I take out tackle harder from everyone's individual instructions, take the cross more often and from byline from wingbacks; and take out take more risks from everyone except the inside forwards.

I usually switch to this formation when I'm comfortably ahead and have another important game coming in less than a week. This is effective at lowering the loss of condition and seems decent at controlling possession... I can't say though that it is effective at increasing my leads. I feel that I suffer a goal about as often as I score another.

Would be interested of others thoughts on the META approach to low intensity football to close out games.

so I feel a little dirty bringing up youtube, but stinger over there did a whole raft of videos trying to succeed with weird tactics. One of the things he was actually able to make work was a sort of anti-meta out of possession system: much less often, mid/standard lines, turn off all the other buttons--and regroup. Otherwise it was a pretty standard 4231.

I've been using it in conjunction with lower tempo/waste time/set pieces/no counter set of instructions to see out games to preserve legs and it's working pretty well!
