How to create a meta AI headcoach?

by ChouxAlpaca, Oct 9, 2024

I am creating a database which replace coaches in some big teams that always underperform in FM (Looking at you, City) to increase the game difficulty.

Currently I creating him with these things in mind:

- Tactical shape: 4-2-4 or 4-2-3-1 DM wide

- Attribute: 15 for attack, 1 for defensive line and width, 20 for pressing

- Tendencies:
Counter press, Focus play down flank, counter, Buy a lot of young player, Sign U24 for first team, Loan out hot prospects and Fit player into prefered tactic

Is there anything that I should add/remove to make him better?

Hey,

Don't forget that the tactical settings isn't the only thing that determines how successful an AI manager is. There are many other things which aren't less important. For example, an AI manager also must be good at rotating the team, keeping everyone happy(high morale), training the team, picking the best possible players from available, making good transfers and some other things.

So it isn't only about the tactical settings when it comes to successful AI mangers.

I think increase the "flamboyancy" of the AI manager could improve how much he rotate the squad and the trainning problem could be less important if I put all the AI manager in the big clubs (The like of City, Bayern, etc..)

"Flamboyancy" is a tactical settings, it determines what roles/duties an AI mangers uses in his tactic.

When it comes to the training AI mangers don't rely on the staff like human managers do, AI managers rely on their training abilities.

So if I lock all his attribute to 20 and set his training style as general, it can work right? And about the rotating squad, I thinking of giving him the "Bring on substitute early" to try and combat the squad problem

When I mention "Rotation" I was talking about "Rotation" that happens between matches not during matches.

For example, a poor AI manager uses the same starting constantly without any rotation between matches, and it has a very negative impact on the result because the players get tired quickly, as opposite, a good AI manager tries to rotate the team between matches and give star players a rest in not important matches which has a positive impact on a long run.

I understand your idea and that's why I propose said tendencies because right now, there's no way to make AI coach rotate more. SI have tried to fix this for a few game versions now and it all failed. By using the "Use early substitute" tendencies, I hoping the AI manager to at least rotate the player in the 60' minutes rather than the usual 80' right now, making it lest likely for star and important players of that squad to get injured or not enough fitness for the next game
