Alreet!

I have been working on this tactic for a few days, it initially started out as a 4231 as I was trying to replicate the way I believe Man United line up, however it didn't seem solid enough and no matter what I changed in terms of roles/duties/instructions it didn't improve the solidity of the 4231. In sheer frustration I reverted it to a 4411, moving the LW to LM and RW to RM and the results have astounded me.

The Tactic

As always, I holiday test my tactics, leaving AM in charge of training and team selection. Editor was used but this was only to make the test manager unsackable. Injuries/Fitness etc are enabled as you will be able to see from the squad screenshots.

I tested initially with United as it was the United tactic I was trying to replicate and the results were very very good, it won the league and all cups. The vast majority of the squad achieved a rating of 7 or higher, only 4 players didn't achieve this (Cavani, Lingard, Heaton and Grant). We scored 100 goals in the league and conceded only 13!! Ronaldo scored 58 in 57 games. The team report shows that in all but 1 area we were better than the league average. (It was narrowly under the shots on target average) but as you can see from the results below, the tactic smashed the league.

I then tested with my usual single elite team test, Liverpool. The team achieved a double (PL and CL) . Scoring 107 in the league and conceding very little again, 14! Mo Salah top scored with 43 in 49 games. Beating the league average in all areas according to the team report. Again over half squad achieved a rating of 7 or more

I then tested with PSG, I know it's easy testing using PSG but they have a very good team and its good to compare against other elite tests. The league and French cups were won whilst we got knocked out of the CL in the semi's by Liverpool. We achieved 106 points in the league, scoring 113 and conceding just 19! Mbappe was top scorer with 47 in 56 games. Beating all the league averages on team report and again over half the squad achieving a rating of 7 or higher.

As part of the PSG test, I also test with Villa. I use Villa as they aren't in any of the competitions PSG are in so it avoids them clashing. Well what can I say about this test. They only went and won the league. 84 points achieved scoring 72 (5th best) and conceding 34(3rd best), that is Villa conceding less than 1 goal per game  Danny Ings top scored with 20 in 42 and just shy of half the team that played achieving a rating of 7 or more. Now this Villa team according to the team selection at the start of the game are predicted to finish 18th. Above all but 1 average on team report, shots on target is slightly less again.

I also tested with Atletico Madrid and Forest, A. Madrid are predicted and narrowly missed out on winning the league, didnt do too well in the other cups. Team scored 101 goals and conceded 26. In terms of ratings there were only 5 with a rating of 7 or higher, however a lot of players were close to a 7 rating. Suarez was top scorer with 22 in 27, so seems he missed a lot of games through injuries. Again beating all league averages in team report bar 1, shots on target.

Forest I believe are predicted 12th, however we manage to go up automatically with 99 points scoring 84 goals (4th best) and conceding just 35 (3rd best). Lewis Grabban top scored with 31 in 51 games. beating all league averages in team report bar 1, shots on target. (reading that this statistic seems to be the one falling under the league average, maybe I should take a look at who is actually taking the shots and adding shoot less often to them). Ratings wise, I wasn't expecting a lot of greens because of the quality of the players but looking at the ratings, they surpassed my expectations, a lot of players around the 7 mark or higher.

I think overall the tactic is very solid, it scores goals and concedes very little. It also seems to get the best out of the majority of the squad, especially with elite teams

Tested with Atalanta, predicted 7th, finished 4th with 83 points. Could've been higher but dropped 8 points from the last 5 games which if we didnt, would've been a 3rd place with 91 points. Scoring 69 goals (4th best) and conceding just 23 (3rd best). Managed to win the Coppa Italia. players ratings were good with a lot around the 7 marker or higher, again beating the league averages according to the team report

@CBP87, I guess the AM acts as a support unit, I mean you should not expect he scores a lot?

For me the AP is the creator, initially when I was looking at that role for the 4231, I imagined Bruno Fernandes there and although he scores quite a fair amount of goals, he is more of a creator. He had 32 goal contributions from playing that role, well mostly playing that role from what I can tell in the holiday test

Tested with BVB, won the double and got to the other German cup final. Unfortunately knocked out of the CL by City. 85 points in the league with only 1 defeat, scoring 102 goals and conceding 26. Haaland scored 57 goals in 49 games. Guy is a monster. Over half the team achieved a green rating with a few more getting close to the 7 marker. Above average in all areas on team report

Sorry for spamming, Tested with Lorient, predicted 20th. Finished 2nd on 92 points, 8 behind PSG. Scoring 81 goals and conceding just 33! YES 33! Terem Moffi was top scorer with 36 goals in 38 appearances  Team ratings were way better than I thought, well the whole test was a lot better than I thought, 8 players with a rating over 7 and quite a few more close to the 7 marker. Better than all but 1 stat in team report, a little less on the tackles won ratio. Now I know some people will be sceptical about this result, so I've included the injury history from the season to show that the players fitness wasn't frozen

At the moment @Gaksital  has the highest rated 4-4-1-1 tactic(Liar v3) - 4-4-1-1 tactics

I wonder what score your tactic will get :)

Can't see me beating that, would love it though if it beat 5.5

I think 5.5 rating for a 4-4-1-1 tactic would be a good rating

I agree, 6.3 is outstanding, might give that tactic a whirl

Another test with Twente, Again apologies for the spamming, but just want to show that it works in different leagues. predicted 11th finished 4 scoring 64 goals (4th best) and conceding 32!(2nd best). Ricky Van Wolfswinkel scored 17 in 29 games and the team ratings are pretty good with quite around the 7 marker or higher. Better than all but 1 stat in the team report average, a little less on the tackles won ratio than the league average
