You may remember me making a post about finding a metric to evaluate players to one solid number, in the thread 'We need a metric for player eval' and I've come to the conclusion that this would take a lot of testing, as was pointed out to me on here.
Anyway, I went to lab and with help from KeithB on here, I've devised my own Genie Scout rating file based on what I think the Match Engine values on each position. I've totally ignored sweeper because it's not 1990. This might not value the players in your game as highly as others, but in theory, it should put people who are the likely top performers in the ME in a certain position to the top of the rankings list.
I would love it if you guys could give this a download and test it on your saves, looking at whether it places the best performers in your worlds in the correct place on Genie Scout. If it works then I'll try and get the weights into a python for ease.
Also, one thing I may have missed, on each position tab in Genie Scout there is a weight value, I didn't fully grasp what this did so left it at 100 for each position. Let me know if this is something that should change. Also be sure to please post some screenshots of players in-game and what they are rated by my Genie Scout rating system.
Just download the file, place it in the Ratings Folder in your FM Genie Scout 2024 directory, then load these ratings in Genie once you've loaded your save game in FM.
Using your rating system in my current save, there is one in particular that catches my attention and I would like to ask the people on the forum which of these 2 they would choose to play on their team.
Currently your rating puts Odriozola as a 68% rating, compared to Wembangomo with a 61% for the DR/WBR position.
It is obvious that in everything other than physical statistics, Odriozola is better, but if we stick to the tests here, wouldn't Wembangomo be much superior in the match engine?

For what it is worth both ykykyky and MDW22 rate Odrizola as the better of the two assuming their DR positional ratings are both 20/20. Calculating them manually using ykykyky I have Odrizola 78.77% and Wembangomo 75.75%, and using MDW22 I make it Odrizola 78.60% and Wembangomo 73.73%.
I would also choose Wemby, simply because of his pace. However, my ratings shouldn't have someone so much further behind Odri, I may need to tweak the importance of pace and acceleration for each position, maybe put it up to 75.
Download this and try it, tell me what you think. In theory it should bump Wemby up nearer Odri in Genie Scout. I messed with the ratings for FB, WB, Fast Striker and Winger.

I literally have no clue what are those rating, but still at least on FM24 i would never go for Odrizola between the 2. Rating or not rating. I will soon release the Lincoln adventure that i am doing.
I am sure Stats are scaling in the wrong way possible. like after 10 some stats are literally doing nothing, i did noticed it by trying to build de zerbi possession/control tactic on FM24. Literally you can dominate possession easier with those gegenpress tactics. If you have the right players on the right positions.
Like with City, with "plugNplay" tactics you will reach very easy 55% possession. And if you literally go after possession you can get out 65%. But you will lose too much in this transition.
I mean we should analyze how much Physical/Mentality are scaling but i don't even know if that's is any worth "project" since they might change everything for FM25

How does Adama Traore play in the game?? I'm actually starting to think the attributes don't necessarily make individual players better, but the more pace you have, the more chances your team makes and the better your results, ergo the better that player does by association.

I mean he is doing good when he plays but here I tested 11 seasons with Adama at PSG as IF at in the box levante tactic and then 1 season same conditions with vinicius junior who has a rating 0.02% lower than adama for this position. You say Wembangomo shouldn’t be rated higher, but then you say you he *is* better and you want a rating system to rate him higher. So I don’t think you can mean both. In my opinion he will not perform better in the match engine, in fact he will be substantially worse. You shouldn’t interpret single attribute tests to mean that only pace and acceleration matter. If there was a test of increasing all attributes except pace and acceleration I’m confident that would outperform the increase only in pace or acceleration. And this is what is reflected in the the various ratings that are available. There are strikers faster than Haaland in the game but they don’t perform as well because they don’t have stats close to him in all the other areas. If they had 20 pace and acceleration and a current ability in the 190s and great hidden attributes then maybe they would be better, but no player with a 140-150 CA can be close to him.
MeanOnSunday said: There are strikers faster than Haaland in the game but they don’t perform as well because they don’t have stats close to him in all the other areas. Expand
Single attribute test also show that agility, balance, jumping reach and dribbling are very important. I don't think there is any striker who is overall higher than Haaland in these attributes (tied with Mbappe prob).

It's highly unlikely, bordering on impossible, that there will be another player as good as Haaland even if you play 1000 seasons. He is the best striker by a long way. What he does show is is that dribbling isn't essential if other attributes such as the ones you mention, along with speed which we already know, are that high. Mbappe is great but he isn't close to Haaland imo.
