I know, but honestly i think that we could improve 4231 only defensively, and it seems that Narrow shape could slightly do it, if we could implement it without losing attacking efficiency it would be great. This evening i'll try a version with the AM on Support, not the best vibes about that but still trying to figure out how to reduce against goals

The width setting only affects the shape when the team "has the ball" and it doesn't have any impact on "without the ball" shape.

You sure? I noticed that with attacking mentality the shapes automatically become wider, and narrower with more defensive ones, and in my test usually the more is narrow the team's shape, the less are goal scored and against goals..
Also if you read on TI menu, when you have to set the shape and you leave the standard one, it says "it will adapt to team's menatlity", and if you try to change mentality you can see that with attacking the standard is "fairly wide", with defensive "narrow", etc...
