Any results from your own testing to share??  Always interested in how tactics perform in other tests

Hi Jdigits,

The main reason I gave one of my testing leagues is because I am not testing at this time. I have written it in my first post too. Anyone who wants can share their own results :)

Hey mate. So after the testing, which data we need to calculate? Only just league points, scored goals and conceded goals? We just take average of them? Or what methods do you use ?

Hi Artabora,

I don't know if there's any other way to get the results of a tactic. You can of course measure other things you are interested in, like player stats etc.

What I do is to measure the average of points, goals scored, goals conceded and goals differences.

Great work @dzek! Really curious to test out some things that I always wondered about :D

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but does it make sense to add more human and AI teams to the save file so we can have more matches in one run? I don't know if there's a limit to human managers per game but if not, I was thinking of increasing the league to 20 teams? 10 human and 10 AI, so either duplicating the existing 5 AI formation teams or testing against other formations. If this does not have extreme performance impact, then I guess it should speed up the testing process.

Also, I intend to test in the following way but I'm not sure if this is fine or has some impact on RNG:

1. Load save file
2. Freeze with FMRTE
3. Load tactics for all managers
4. Go on holiday with all managers except last one (the two boxes are ticked)
5. Create new save file
6. Go on holiday with last manager

So every time I do a test run, I would only have to "manually" go on holiday for one manager which speeds up things a bit more - especially if it was possible to increase the amount of teams :D

Hi myheroine,

First of all, thank you for your kind words.

That's a good question that I've had in the past and it definitely increases the outcome for any tactic you test because you save time with a simple run of the season with much more games played. Having the other 8 preset tactics from the opponents also I think will give a better insight into your tactics(and it was also something I also suggested here on FM-Arena) but as was said then the three tactics now used in my test league are the most prevalent in the game.

I would love to upgrade this test league and I had intended to do so at the time I released it, but due to circumstances and some attitudes within the forum I decided to withdraw. Maybe in the future I'll get back into it and build something like this.

Thanks a lot for your interest :)

Thanks for your response! :)

Would you be able to share the editor files in that case? I would really like to take a look and at least make those changes for myself or if there's interest upload them here.

To keep it as similar as the original arena testing league, I would opt for just duplicating the five AI teams and formations instead of introducing other preset formations so I can double the amount of games in one test run.

Unfortunately, I cannot share the editor file. Sorry about that.

Hello everyone!!

I've released an update to my test league that includes some minor fixes.
For those who wish, you can download it from the first post here.

Happy FMing :woot:

How you transition results into some scoring system? Do you just add points and take a average? And how many points would you consider "good" in your test system
Good job with that database it's super fast for quick test.

Hi @smigler,

Inside the link I provided in the first post you will find an excel sheet (Testing Sample.xlsx) with which you can measure the results of your tactics up to 3 times. You need to enter the GF, GA and PTS into the "white" tables and the results will be in the table just to the right in the "yellow" table. If you run into any problems or difficulties I am here.

The results that my excel sheet produces are translated to a season that has 38 matches. With that in mind I would say if your tactic gets over 60 points I would consider it very good.

Thanks a lot! :)

Hi @dzek , Can the free version of FMRTE freeze players? I tried step 7 and it seem like I need the paid version to do so.

Hi FeltaM,

I’m not sure about this because I’m using the paid version. Maybe someone in the forum can help you on this or just ask this question inside FMRTE forum. :)

I’m pretty sure you can’t save any changes (including freezing) without the paid version.  That’s my memory from before I upgraded.

Hi dzek

I am currently using your spreadsheet and testing league and it is going well so far since I have created 3 tactics that have gotten 60 points or more. All I wanted to ask is how you can copy and paste the data tables so I can have more, or should I duplicate the entire spreadsheet?

Hi CairozinhoXx,

The spreadsheet is locked where there are formulas for the correct operation of the results tables. I was counting on creating a bigger one where you can run a tactic up to 10 times, as well as creating a table with the best tactic from the ones you tested in the test league but due to workload in my life I neglected it. What you could do is continue testing your tactic and in the boxes below and then take the two final scores and average them. This also applies if you choose to run more than 6 times your tactics.

I hope I have answered your question. Be well! :)

I've actually created a database that mimics the FM-Arena test league, and I'm about 90% done with it (just the staff part is left), but I don't feel like continuing it. If you're interested, I can share it with you

Thank you so much, your testing really has motivated me to come back to FM24 and make tactics <3
