as a southampton fan i thought i could create a system that we might end up playing next season.
i may well be a move from 433 to more of a 343 formation with 3 cbs all offering an extra man on the pitch to go back to or switch play.
1 sort of holding midfielder and another playmaker that operates in the channels
one winger to stay quite narrow to the striker and the other staying wider. in turn the wing back behind the winger that tucks would then offer width on the outside and the winger that stays wider the wingback you operate narrower.
The striker would be on a roam from position that means he can draw defenders out and make space for the narrow winger to cut into.
using a libero to offer support in the midfield
using stay disciplined seems to help on the defence side of things at the cost of goals
iwb on the right joins the lone dm
wp on the left tucks and allows the fullback to invert or flank
dw on the right watches the space left by the iwb
liverpool
leeds
barca
villa
2 raumdeuter's on the wings
2 attacking midfielders
FB's stay wider
and only 1 dm in the middle
can leak goals if not a solid back 4 and good dm
inverted winger on the left with the fb on stay wider
winger on the right with the fullback on stay narrow
testing much shorter passing
dlp on defend as an open option for all players to pass to.
attacking midfielder stay wide to stretch defence
made it for Liverpool
CWB to facilitate TAA creativity pushing Salah into a IF role sitting narrow
The right sided cb is a WCB to cover any space that TAA leaves as he goes on a jolly
Robertson as a support WB
really nice defensive side for my Liverpool test
Liverpool
Bayer
Rangers
Got to the Champions League final
attacking seems most consistent for this tactic
lw is an Ap best at getting passes to the strikers and setting up goals from up top
false 9 set to stay wider as most of the right winger positions were giving poor ratings for me
full backs on support help with getting countered less for me
no narrow like a bit more width to play with on this one
Chelsea
Others - Bayer/Hull/City/Barcelona
using dlf seeing how it works with the inside forward
dm and dlp together in the midfield seems solid
1 winger 1 inside forward on narrow
2 centre mids moving to channel
left back on underlap past the winger
right back on overlap over the inside forward
regista role allows him to go anywhere and receive a pass and dictate play
all while using a lower tempo

pushing wingbacks further forward.
and 3 strikers rather than some wingers or inside forwards
and a much lower defensive line to compensate for pushing the wingbacks up
does seem to be a top/elite club level tactic. got somewhat ok results for lower rated teams.
2 wingers keep some what of width in a narrow mentality
2 shadow strikers to flank the advanced forward
1 advanced playmaker stringing it all together
3 atb
the two wingbacks seemed to perform better when look for underlaps was on instead of overlaps
one regista in midfielder finding space and passing the ball forward
3 AM middle one has move into channels as the only difference
using Carrilero in midfield
wide shape fbs and ifs cut in to midfielder while the cars push wide
Liverpool
Leipzig
Frosinone
Sporting
Palace
PSG
Defence seems really solid
Cm attack on roam from position to find any space he wants
Dlp stays in the middle close to the left winger on support duty but had roam from position to find space if needed
right winger on attack spreads the width keeping wide shooting less often
DM gets further forward leaving the dlp on his own
lots of test prepare
Frosinone
Spurs

Liverpool
3 cbs the far left cb is a wcb that takes the space where the lb should be
Wb slightly more forward overlapping the right sided IF
standard 2 dms
nothing on the left hand side
volante gets forward to form an attacking 3 in the midfield
DLP stays in that cm position to spray balls up front
1 AF and 1 PF up top with the SS joining them in attacking phases
couldnt decide between balanced and positive tbh
balanced mentality
fullbacks with instructions to overlap
2 AM on support to have them linger in the opponents half without pushing into the box as much
1 AM with attack duty to support the strikers
using regroup when lost the ball to create 2 banks of 4 on defence
Target Forward for all crosses which are on mixed
City
Forest
Ipswich - Took down multiple prem teams to win cup
