But I'm 100% sure he has all matches simulated with QME (Quick Match Engine) instead of the actual ME (Match Engine).

This will produce a lot more random effects, with CA playing the biggest role. So stats like passing, etc. get more important.

I did the same mistake over 200k matches before realizing.

oh interesting, but do you think it was a mistake tho?
I play maybe 80% of the matches using quick result, most people probably do the same
would be interesting to see QME breakdown
There are some weird results in this video, I don't know the guy and how trusted his test is but it's way different than pretty much all the actual results I saw

I only heard that traits don’t really matter much in FM, but I’ve always noticed how good players with “tries tricks” are. I even started teaching it to everyone in my youth academy. Of course, it’s anecdotal evidence, but when youngsters learn it—or even just try to do it—their impact and match ratings seem to be so much higher.

I’ve also noticed the same thing with the Light-Hearted personality. Somehow, good players with that personality seem to perform so much better for me than players with other personalities.

Is this something anyone has ever tested before?
I read this thread and it got me wondering: are reflexes and agility basically everything you need to make a good GK? Also, what's the best way to achieve a high match rating? Is there any way to influence it other than saving lots of shots and keeping clean sheets?

What's the best role or team instructions for farming GK ratings? How much do traits affect a goalkeeper's performance? Is height really that important?

Is there a way to build tactics around the goalkeeper being more involved in play and actually doing things? For example, something similar to the long-throw abuse in the old El Diablo tactics.

There must be the way to make it into the actual tactic, it's so fun to watch them pass the ball and be 100% sure you won't concede. Need some 300iq people to figure it out
I was testing bunch of different roles for deadly spike v4 and for me the best combination was left CM is playmaker and DM is DLP, it improved the quality on the ball a lot but maybe it's just a player specific thing in my save, did you test anything like that?
What do you think about shooting less for all the attacking players and work ball into box? Testing with small team and my guys wasting like 90% of attacks for 0.02xg shots
Really want this one to be tested, avr rating sucks, strikers can't play or score, but result is pretty good. All games played on IR, no personal training for anyone, only focus on agility and balance(for everyone)

Pretty much no transfers, all money spent for a next season, Diomande wasn't able to play because selling Ilic didn't registered as a non-EU player sell.

Do you use any OIs? And what are the set pieces? Thanks!
