It appears to me as though trap outside with no short GK distribution actually concedes fewer goals than the standard prevent short GK distribution with no trap outside. I put together two sandboxes to operate simultaneously which had 20 generations each and it appears up to 2.7+ more points can be expected on a per season basis (in the simulation league) by trapping outside and not preventing short distribution..
a tactic built for holding leads and seeing out games. capable of defending an entire 120 minutes without conceding, averaging 1 goal conceded every 6-7 games at worst when actively managed. when holidayed the season the numbers go up to around 13 conceded which is expected given the loss of in-game management and adjustments the tactic relies on to perform at its ceiling.
Ladies. I've been seeing the top 4 out of 5 defensive tactics on fm-arena use trap outside and no short gk distribution tactics for out of possession press. Whats the consensus on this? Trap outside, no short gk distribution press or no trap in or out and short gk distribution. Or does it not matter? And why not both? Why do these tactics all have in common its either or?
