I first created this tactic in an MLS save, where it won me the Supporters Shield in year 2, losing the MLS Cup 0-0 on penalties. I had set out to create a ST/AM/RLW-less formation that just didn't fail, and the MLS proved it was possible. I posted my success to reddit and someone suggested I get it tested here. I've looked through the tactics that have been tested, and only 2 others have no ST/AM/RLW, and both are different from mine.

It felt too easy in the MLS, so I started a new save with Burnley (because they focus on defensive and direct football) in order to test and tweak it in a challenging situation. I struggled for about a season and a bit, avoiding relegation on goal differential, before I settled on the tactical setup above. (Choudhary's position is usually an Anchorman, but I had to promise I'd play him as a BWM and it worked just fine).
The only player instructions I have are "cross from byline" on the WBs, "move into channels" on the segundo volantes, and "roam from position" on the AP.
This is not for people who like attacking or possession football, as I rarely had more than 45% of the ball and only scored 33 goals. Although, I was the most efficient shooting team in the League, converting 17.5% of my 4.95 shots per game.
Word of warning, this is not for fans of beautiful or fun-to-watch football.

After starting the '21-'22 season a slow 2-1-8, I was climbing up above my media predicted 18th place, finally finishing in 11th, with some very interesting stats.

Sorry if some of the stats are hard to see, I didn't want to spam this post with 10+ images.

Along the way I had a couple of wins that made me feel especially happy with my approach.

If this ends up getting tested, I wouldn't expect it to be a top tactic, but I'm really curious to see how it does.
