V4N DAMAGE
Undefeated in the league through a holiday season test with Man City. Seems solid defensively and good player ratings across the team.

Took https://fm-arena.com/thread/10163-3322-icebreaker-narrow/ as inspiration.
Base tactic taken from here: https://fm-arena.com/thread/9824-4213-striker-madness-v5/

I wanted to try and recreate a 5-3-2 tactic that I had some great success with many moons ago. Tested on Man City through a holiday mode season with some very good results.
This tactic has worked wonders with the teams we tested with helping them to overachieve and win their trophies without any signings what so ever.

Found on the FM Scout site and wondered how it would fair on the FM Arena testing.
A 4-3-1-2 tested in LOWER & HIGHER Leagues

Found on the FM Scout site and wondered how it would fair on the FM Arena testing.
Back in FM22 I was trying to get a 3 man strike-force working and had moderate success, noticing that it seems to be quite prolific in FM23 I wanted to combine it with a 3 man defence (something I had lots of success with back in the ol' Champ Manager days).

I've been through quite a few versions of this now using holidays seasons (no transfers etc) and think it's ready for some more extensive testing. Central midfield seemed to be a problem area in terms of average ratings for players so I reduced it down to just the one player and focused on the top and bottom ends of the pitch.

Interested to see how it does in the table after the success in my most recent and final test season (see attached images).

Shout out to @Steelwood who's tactics I have used for inspiration and retained his set pieces.
a-jack-of-diamonds Corner Tweak
@ZaZ

I've been using this on my Charlton save. I started using it towards the end of my first season in the Prem after back to back promotions from League One using something else and I'm now in season 2 of the Prem.

It's really starting to kick in now that I have players suited to the tactic and they are getting the green links, see the attached run of games!

I watched Tooka's video on the tactic and noticed the pass map issue with the DW's and IWB's standing on each others toes. I started having a play with the roles to try and get them separating out a bit. Putting them on Winger Attack has a hug impact on position, they fly up the pitch.

After a while messing around with it I thought 'Zaz has probably done all this already' so I gave up haha
Just a slight mod on ZaZ Orange to try and push the goal difference as far as possible. Possibly on for a hiding as a non-elite side.

It does lose some away games! The knock-out by AC Milan in the Champs League was a 6-1 loss away and 5-1 win at home! :D
Influenced by @ZaZ and @Zealot

Highest goal difference I have seen in testing (+108 with Man Utd), seems viable with all teams as shown in my usual Man U, Leeds & Norwich test (not the best I've seen for Norwich but 12th is still okay). No OTT corner exploitation.

Even the change is very small but it isn't the original tactic anymore and you just can't put the name of the original author on it.

Okay, updated

Please, add a screenshots of the tactic to the opening post ( it should have the TIs and Mentality ).

Is the "a-jack-of-diamonds Corner Tweak" tactic your tweak of the "a-jack-of-diamonds" tactic ? If it is, then you should put your own name on it.

Thank you.

Hi Zippo

I've added the screenshot for you. The corner tweak is literally just my attacking corners added, i left everything else as it was.
Just how many goals can Ronaldo score?

I made a little tweak to @Zealot's Revelation 1.0 tactic. All I did was change it to a positive mentality and add my own corner routine. - https://fm-arena.com/thread/1814-prophecy-amp-revelation/

Ran a test season with Man Utd, Norwich and Leeds. I normally put a big centre back attacking the near post but stuck Ronaldo there to see just how many goals he could get, well he did okay (94 in 50).

I think (i could be wrong though) the key to the corners is pulling defenders away from the near post, the player coming short does this along with the 'Lurk on Edge of Area' player. The 'Go Forward' player needs to be behind the 'Attack Far Post' player. You have to move multiple players into that spot to get him positioned correctly (and then move them back out).

Use the extra 'Stay Back' player as the corner taker (move people around to make that a good corner taker but keep the set-up the same). Lefty on taking right sided corners, righty on the left. The more big players you have in attacking positions the more freedom the near post man will have so jiggle it around.

Formation attached.

I didn't change the tactic at all in the tweaked version other than adding my corners
I run a quick test of the new GYRFM tactic (using the tweaked corner version). Lots of goals scored by Man U, Harry Maguire top scorer in the Prem. Didn't go well for Norwich though!
I was using ZaZ Cyan and wanted to try and make it a bit more solid, took bits from Revelation to. I don't really consider this my tactic but it has performed better than most in my own test runs.
I ran a quick test season comparing Revelation 1.0 on Very Attacking and Positive mentalities. Looks like in game management will get this working with any team
I tested the v2.1 in the same way I test my tactics, it's done very well! I've attached the final tables to compare the two tactics.

Arrowhead walked the league with Man U with ease, second place for Leeds is the best I've seen. Norwich still did better than predicted, they'd be happy with 14th.

I did make one change and that was to take the 'Shoots Less Often' instruction off of the main striker
I've been trying to get a 3 striker tactic working since beta but always struggled to get something that didn't concede a lot of goals. Scoring and winning wasn't a huge issue but goals conceded was always to high. It was mostly based around 4-3-3. It then became apparent through some other tactics I had tested that 3 at the back systems seemed to be a bit more solid so I started dabbling with those.

I have seen ZaZ working on some very similar shapes and ideas but going for all out goals, shout out to ZaZ for the set pieces as I have shamelessly stolen those. Also a shout out to anyone else who's tactic I have tested and taken bits from.

Anyway I have just finished testing a few different iterations of my current tactic and want to put the most successful out there for others to try.

I believe it should work for all teams. I test using Man U, Leeds and Norwich with all of them doing well in the Prem. I'd still consider these high scoring tactics but they should keep the conceded goals down. I also think it can be tweaked further to improve it with some deeper ME insight
