The views and Bafici's ratings file are based off Orions findings below.

https://fm-arena.com/thread/14201-fm24-experiment-update-new-match-engines-most-important-attributes-for-each-respecitve-positions-with-their-coefficients/

You can adjust the ratings files if you want to as well. This is why I flip between ratings as well.
OK thanks. I am using FM Matchlab one atm. It hasnt made a massive difference, I am scoring less and losing more, but overall still get good overall results from less than average players.

Doing a Boreham Wood save and got promoted automatically in first 3 seasons. Youth only save as well so buying player under 18, but not many.

Visually its does look and flow better
Middleweight165 said: and why use both? why not choose one?

There are lots of different models out there on the best attributes, so I look to see if players are rating well in all the models.
Has anyone used/tried any of the various new match engines?

Which did you find the best?
Middleweight165 said: @Pip i read you're not using GS anymore but how did you choose between the two GS ratings above? They seem to be very different

I flip between them.

Sort by the Position rating then change to the other rating and re-sort

If player is near the top on both then sign them
they are not filters

they are views, create a views folder and paste them in there.

Then in player search you can import them, via custom views
@Kma These are based on Orions weightings. Highest weighting is on the left. I in some I have added some additional attributes like Work Rate and Stamina

But the thing that surprised  me the most is that i won champions league with a Greek team Panathinaikos in the 1st year, just by signing very cheap players and free agents. I simmed most games in the greek league except the rivals and played all champions league games with 0 save scum.

This combined with meta tactics is gamebreaking

I play a version with no real players, attribute masking on and have stopped using genie scout! Just use some custom views with the meta attributes on
I feel the same. I want to use meta tactics as they are fun and score lots of goals, but I always seem to buy the same players or use genie scout too much.

I have jus started a new save with a blank database and used the option to create players. I then went on holiday for 5 years so more regens created.

I have kept attr masking on and am not going to use genie scout.

To find players I have create views with the meta attributes in order instead of using genie.

An option if you still want to use genie would be to create a shortlist with only scouted players and  just view this within genie.

Example view

I think it is the detail level setting, which defines which leagues etc have matches properly simulated
kvasir said: What made you think that the thread indicates Jumping Reach is capped in the sense that it’s not effective beyond 17? The explanation actually says they deliberately limited it to 17 in the test to avoid an unrealistic scenario, not that its effectiveness is capped in gameplay.

Must have missed this - thanks for pointing out
Thanks for all the research!

Looks like jumping reach is most import attr for a striker, but how does this work when this thread (https://fm-arena.com/thread/14009-attribute-testing-football-manager-24/) indicates it's capped out at 17?
Exellent said: how to transfer this data to genie scout rating?

https://fm-arena.com/thread/14059-ratings-file-for-genie-scout-based-on-fm-arena-attribute-testing/

https://fm-arena.com/thread/14077-guide-on-how-to-use-genie-scout-to-find-meta-players/

I am using the one @Bafici created - it's better than mine as it splits for offensive and defensive players.
Bit late on this thread sorry, but with plan 2, could i just alternate the training calendar for a similar effect

ie week 1 - [Quickness]+[Attacking Direct]+[Recovery]x7
week 2 - [Rest]
week 3 - Quickness]+[Attacking Direct]+[Recovery]x7
week 4 - [Rest]

and so on?

Thanks
For finding players that are interested in joining you I often do it the other way round as well.

Go to FM and go to all players in range and filter for those interested in joining.

Go to genie (assuming you have already loaded your game into genie), then use the button you highlighted (the green up arrow), this will load all the player in range and interested.

Then apply filters within that view (use the in shortlist tick box)

This saves importing shortlists into FM, but it has drawbacks if your scouting range isn't great.

I still do your method as well - especially if my filter is very targeted and I want to keep those players on my shortlist.
I don't really use PA anymore either most of my saves are the moneyball style so I use the rating percentages (I use a combination of ratings files, but I am trying the one I made plus Bafici's atm which is proving very good)

I would use PA in conjunction with the genie scout ratings and potential ratings if picking youth prospects. I have only just started using the harvest training schdules and not seen a massive effect yet tho will keep on with them
animatron said: Thank you for this,

I have tried your ratings with minor tweaks to centre back / full backs.
I used the editor to add around 25 players to ipswich town who had market value under 7M with the highest current ratings according to the ratings file.
Didn't touch anything no set piece no staff etc. simmed the whole season with the highest rating tactic here won the PL with 85 points, the purpose was to see if it can win the PL with undervalued players using this file, here are the relevant screenshots
First screenshot was taken after first season, all of the players added were under
7M transfer value

No worries - an impressive result!
I have created a new Ratings file for Genie Scout.

I have used the same values for all positions at the moment, and only for CB, FB, DM, W and FS positions - thats the formation I am using. I will add more later.

I think my maths is correct - i have set Pace & Acc as 100 and factored the other values up in relation to that - happy to be corrected.

Delicious said: You mean long from right and short from left (the contrary)?, it does but it's like 2-5% (can be statistical noise).

Yeah
I have two good corner takers, high tech, corners, crossing etc.
One is left footed one is right footed

Do i set left footer to right sided corners (inswing) or to left side corners (outswing)
