Greetings Fellow FM enthusiasts,I present to you, The "Trying Some Total FootBall" tactic. Disclaimer, I don't know if this is blatant plagiurism/ tweak or just paying Homage to a tactical guru by the name of ZAZ. I must admit that I am not a tactician, I was just lucky to make this positional tweak work this time. Most credit must go to ZAZ as this is best on probably 90% of his instructions.I must also thank the following; FmArena team for the tactics templates with built in set pieces, FmStinger for his fm21 defensive corner set up, BustTheNet for his fm19 advice about placing someone at the far post when defending corners,(RDFtactics,HoodGaming and TookaJobs whose videos always inform me about cool tactics to checkout). Now that the brown nosing is out of the way lol, Time for the tactic, I used the 433dm wide fmarena tactic template, I moved the positions around to make it a 3-1-4-1-1 diamond shape. I used the player roles and instructions from the ZAZ blue 4.0 tactic, for the team instructions, I had watched an RDFtactics video "133xg 149 goal..." I added Play for Set Pieces and Force opposition inside (I don't know if these enhanced or hindered the performance).Points to note; The set piece taker should the central midfielder on the right (mezzala) that's were I had Bruno Fernandes, Your biggest jumping defender should be the left central defender. I started using the tactic in second season with Man Utd from the 9th game of the season (10 October). Achievements= English Premier League won by 1 point over Man City, Won Carabao Cup beat Leicester 3:1 in the Final, FA Cup lost in the 5th round to Man City 2:1 and Champions League lost to Liverpool in Semi Final 3:1 aggregate.
Thank You.PLEASE TEST THIS TACTIC.

ZaZ said: That's bullshit. Ukraine joining a defensive alliance is not enough reason for Putin to order a genocide. The only countries that voted in favour of Russia were Eritrea, North Korea, Belarus and Syria. All rest of the world condemned the attack (except some that abstained, like China and Venezuela), and you can bet they don't take their information from Twitter or normal media, all of them have intelligence services and embassies to help make decisions.

I am not justifying the murder of innocent people! I am just saying there are other entities at play here, justification or not, who voted for who does not really matter because when all things are said and done you will see that all those nations voted according to their allegiances irrespective of right or wrong. It could also be said that Cuba at the time wanted to join a defensive alliance with Russia. I suppose the fundamental difference is that US did not invade Cuba at the time but financed "the bay of pigs" situation. Don't get me wrong, I am against any war. As for Intelligence services, it could also be said that Russian intelligence services might have perceived some form of threat to their security in order to justify "their" actions. I do not condone any massacre, I am just playing devil's advocate and presenting a different point of view.
I remember a time when Russia wanted to put it's missiles in Cuba and America prevented them from doing so because it was too close to America.
ZaZ said: There isn't politics here. Putin is an idiot that will be painted in history books together with dictators like Stalin, Hitler and Mao. He kills opposition, arrests protesters and journalists that talk against him, controls media with propaganda, has his oligarch corrupt friends that support him in exchange for monopoly, among other several issues. Nothing against Russians, people there are innocent, but Putin is just evil.

I don't disagree with most of your comments, I don't agree with war either. History will paint him as it will, I really didn't want to comment more on the political issue but here goes: What is the Casus Belli for Russia's invasion of Ukraine? Correct me if I am wrong, Isn't it due to an agreed upon treaty whereby Ukraine was not allowed to join NATO and thereby not having NATO bases in Ukraine which would result in NATO missiles within close proximity of Russian soil?
War is never okay, especially when innocent people get hurt, but please let's stay away from politics on a gaming forum.

I was looking at a tactic called vanlose by Liam Bond for fm20, the long throw routine seems to work for fm21.3. these set pieces were slightly overpowered on fm20 especially the far post corner, his version of long-throw seems to do the business on fm21. I invite you to check it out

ZaZ said: I currently have 28 players in my team. Two for each position, plus one goalkeeper, one defender, striker, midfielder (training as DM) and one winger in each side (training as DL/R). Basically, I rotate two teams of 22 players equally (one match each) and use the other 5 as reserves for both teams, so everyone gets play time. The third goalkeeper plays on Trophy Cup, no matter the team.

In the middle of the season, I usually lower everyone's agrees play time to minimum, then try to increase until they drop their worry. That makes them expect as least playtime as possible.

P.S.: I also took some time to get rid of players other than those 28. I managed to sell some, loan some, but one stayed and didn't want to leave, so I just terminated his contract paying the full salary. I will show my team later, but now there are some experiments running. I am using only one player from the youth category, one reserve striker. I also hired more scouts, so I know my players even without a scouting package, and convinced the board to add two more coaches.

P.S.2: My defensive set pieces suck so bad...

Try watching Daljit's youtube videos on defensive set pieces even fmstinger has very good defensive setups which help to counter from those defensive situations.
rego8 said: all good mate i tested it early on when 21 first come out but not in the new patch sounds like i have to go back and try it out

I am not well versed on how to do set-pieces, it is why I keep going back to fm19 because your fm19 tactics were a godsend. I have noticed during highlights on the latest fm21 patch using rego throw that a lot of players get pulled towards the person throwing as if they on come short instruction and they tend to pull markers with them, I think if you tweak it maybe it could be another great setpiece, one of the tweaks could perhaps be having someone mark the keeper, it seems the keeper comes to get most of it or is it that the match engine favors the keeper this way? I see these things but I do not know how to implement them into the game.
rego8 said: if you have fm 20 you can import your fm19 tactic to your fm20 and save it then start fm21 and import that tactic to your fm21 at the end should have your fm19 tactic in your fm21 if that makes sense lol

cool, thanks for that, I have your tactics from fm19 and the others you put setpieces into, I will do as you suggest, much appreciated. All this time I have been manually writing it down with a pen and paper lol.
Mark said: Not yet but it has been added to the list

Disclaimer, I don't know whether it was a fluke but when I tested the Rego pyramid long throw from fm19, the first game I scored 3 goals from long throws, I noticed that in highlights some players set as go forward run towards the guy throwing as if they are set on come short and that draws some opposition with them leaving the guy on the far post with fewer markers and he usually scores if it doesn't get blocked by the keeper (which happens a lot on fm21) I am not a setpiece expert, but I reckon that if one can identify which positions are drifting towards the "come short" and leave them with the go-forward instructions, and adjust the ones in the box maybe this could be exploitable. Just a thought.
yes
Mark said: Can you upload the throw in tactic from FM19?

The tactic I am using is the 442rob 2 high from fm19, I had to load my fm19 and wrote down the instructions, and copied the offensive set pieces including the rego throws and its working brilliantly.

Sorry to go off-topic boss, I don't know whether it was a fluke, or have you tested on this fm21, your pyramid long-throw setup from fm19? I just managed to score 3 goals in one match using the Rego long throw, the first time I tried it on the latest fm21 patch.
I am not a tactical guru, I acquire inspiration from those that are. First of all, a massive thank you to all youtube streamers, for without them I would not have known of some of the interesting tactics out there. Special shout out to; Tookajobs, RDF, Bustthenet, FMstinger, Zealand, Mainomai, Hoodgaming, FmBase, FM ARENA and Clayts to name a few. I try to borrow various info from a bunch of sources hopefully to see if it works in my own saves. Tactically I would like to acknowledge Magician for his Phoenix tactic, Knap for his many player instructions and throw-in, FMstinger, and Bust the net on ideas about breaking from a defensive set-piece.

The Formation I chose was a 4231, I decided to take control of 8 teams from different leagues to see if it would work for all of them, I got mixed results, I realized that it would probably work much better for teams who are predisposed to play a 4231 system at the beginning if you don't use transfer market. I simulated one full season and no transfers.

The Teams I chose were Getafe(Spain) finished 14th, Heracles Almelo (Holland) finished 11th, Bordeaux (France) finished 7th, SC Freiburg (Germany) finished 7th and qualified for Europe, Sassuolo (Italy) finished 6th and qualified for Europe, P.Ferreira (Portugal) finished 5th and qualified for Europe, Blackpool the only team not in the top division (England Skybet League One) finished 4th and also gained promotion through the playoff and finally, My Beloved Manchester United (England) won the Premier League.

Thank you for your time.
