I've downloaded your MDW24 rating but I have a question: do you look only at "general roles" (CB, CM, ST, etc.) or at the "specific roles" (BPD, RPM, IW, etc.) in your ratings? Thank you!!!

I'm not OP, but I prefer using the general positional rating with the specific roles as a tiebreaker if two players are within a few percentage points in the positional rating. For example if Player A is at 82% in DC rating with 86.5% Ball Playing Defender Stopper and Player B is at 84% in DC and 82.2% in BPD(S), I'd go with Player A.

Although either way you're going to get a really good player in that position, so it's not a huge deal IMO.
I could just be unlucky, but it seems like a lot of the meta tactics generate a lot of yellow cards. Why is that? It's something I've noticed over the last few games, so it isn't just a FM24 issue.

I recently started a new save using the Katana 4231 tactic and 7 games in my team leads the league in yellow cards. More than DOUBLE the amount as the team ranked 2nd. Is there a way to alleviate that or is that the price I pay for a good defensive tactic?
Is it more effective to train and use only the top tactic, or to train and specialize in offensive and defensive-focused tactics and swap between them as needed?

I find it very useful to quickly look through my team's roster and sort out players, find holes, suitable tactics, and potential off-load candidates. For a journeyman save it helps a ton.

But what I like most about it is that it gives me a single consistent metric to track player development and compare squads with.

Genie Scout does all of those things to, plus it includes metrics for player Potential.
I'm curious if anyone here has tried out the app that Youtuber squirrel_plays created for FM24.

https://fm-client-app.vercel.app/

It seems really neat. It uses some of the data from here to calculate how good players are in different roles. I'm curious how this data compares to the calculations from Genie Scout, and the various GS calculations others have come up with here. Is one better than the other? Or are they about the same?
Sometimes I like to go back to FM18 because it's simpler and I have more hours put into it compared to the more recent games. I was curious if any of the recent attribute tests are applicable to slightly older versions of FM? I use Genie Scout so if I could use the filters for FM18 as well that would be awesome.
Do these figures work in FM23 too?
For the main Blue 4.0 tactic (or any of these really) is it recommended to alter the player instructions to fit my player's skill sets? Or should I leave it as is?
Can someone compare results from ZaZ's schedule to these?

Are the Potential positional ratings worth looking at when scouting young players? Or am I better off looking at something else?

Does the 'Probability Of Development' mean anything?

I don't think the results above is outside the previous testing. FM Genie Scout did have a small adjustment for position that was their attempt to allow for positional unfamiliarity.

I worked with the proportional differences from the last 2 years and the impacts identified in testing and came up with a formula for giving the real rating for position.

So here goes. In the formula A1 is the location of the rating you want to manipulate and B1 is the location of the position score out of 20. It seems to work out very close to the testing numbers that FM Arena came up with.

Download the data for the player or players you are interested in to excel and then enter the positional score out of 20 for each position and then use this formula to give you their real positional rating:

=A1*(1-(20-B1)/46)

This is about 2.17% reduction for each point under 20.

Hope this helps.

I have a question about this formula. Are you going off of the General Rating from a player's page in Genie Scout? Or the Positional Rating? When I plug in the General Rating into A1 and the position rating (the 1-20 one) I'm not getting close to GS's Positional Rating. Am I doing something wrong?
