That's why basically no difference in terms of results between this and the top tactic for this formation.@Tomaka

This test (https://fm-arena.com/thread/3257-433n-extreme-swanton-bomb-tweaks/) had a difference between stay wider and narrow (56 vs 51) for fb but not for wb. However it also had 2 strikers stay wider on some cases, but it only lost points with fb and not wb.

Yes, they scored goals

I was using the original Swanton shape that I tweaked but very curious to try this out

Usually what works best with Liverpool performs the worst in FM-Arena, so expecting a 55
Hi,

433N Extreme Swanton Bomb tweak, credits to Delicious.

Repost from the other thread where I forgot to save the tactic. Renamed this one A17A, but it's the same that was tested as A17.

From basic 433N Extreme Swanton Bomb :
Reworked SP
Defensive line moved up from lower to much higher
Added Drop off more
Changed BPD (Def) to BPD (Cover)

Yarema said: Surely at least top3 (or 5 or 10) tactics on the table deserve those extra test matches.

Absolutely not, first because it takes a lot of time, second because knowing which tactics score 1 more goal isnt really useful, especially when testing small tweaks, and third, because 2k or 6k games can still be down to rng in the end, when it's this close.
You can use any of the top tactics in your save and do great with them. Also remember that this is only one test league, and other test leagues have different results. You'll understand more about FM analyzing all the leagues, watching your games, making small tweaks to fit the tactic to your team/players, adapting to your opponent.
Blindly following a tactic because it has +1 goal over another in one test league isnt the way to get better at FM.
Hi,

Tweak of 433 Swanton Bomb XI, credits to Delicious
Changed SP for more goals

Adding that "Drop off more" and "BPD (Cover)" could be a thing if going the lower line route

Best would be to do that to know exactly what's needed
"Put a SS instead of an AF, it's the same" :woot:
Also, no one is preventing *you* from posting tactics or suggesting stuff/experiment that *you* are interested in, but to the best of my knowledge, you arent the "Head of Strategic Tactic Testing at FM-Arena". There is a fair system in place to make sure everyone gets a chance to test its tactics, be it a brand new one or a small tweak, and I dont see why you are getting mad at people using it to try to understand better how the match engine works.
And despite what you think, after a few weeks capped at 60, we (as a community) had 2 tactics reaching 61 last week, meaning there is still room to improve on these tactics, as well as on others.
Then, there would be less small tweak requests if the FM-Arena core save file would be made available to everyone, but Zippo(&others?) decided not to release it, thus we cant test stuff in private until we find something trully working on FM-Arena database.
Finally, if you aren't aware of it, there are a number of things working better on FM-Arena that are worst on other testing league database, and vice-versa, meaning it's sometimes hard to predict if a tactic will be a 57 or a 61, without even considering the rng. I can however assure you that you'll do great in your save by downloading any 57+ (and even less) tactics, and the difference is more fake than you think, despite some thinking only 60 and 61 ones are worth anything.
Hi,

Tweak of HG-442, by A Smile

Changed IWB - stay wider to WB - sit narrower
Added "Get further forward" to both Vol

No reason to run it for 6k games, many similar tactics at 59-60 means the difference is within rng. You dont need one "best" tactic and never change it, consider all the top 343 as options for you to adapt your strategy to your team, your opponent and how the match goes
Hi,

Changed WB - sit narrower to IWB

Hi,

Tweak of HG-442, by A Smile

Changed IWB - stay wider to WB - sit narrower
Changed IW (A) to IW (S)
Changed Vol (S) to Vol (A)

As is, would be HG-442 A2
Now,
Removed focus down the wings
Removed overlaps

Cherknam said: Did you test without overlaps? Zippo's test with '424 Alhamdulillah II' suggested that not having them was fractionally better than having them on, obviously that might not be the same for this tactic

Not yet, was waiting to see which of the tweaks would perform best (and weirdly it was one of the worst liverpool run :getlost: :woot: )
A version without focus/overlap is coming !
