Inspiration & Goals
My inspiration for creating this tactic was to emulate the minimum width approach in FM24 as popularised mainly by RB Leibzig coaches such as Naglesmann. The basic idea is somewhat opposite to positional play principles - instead of making the pitch as wide as possible in attack, play very narrow and overload central areas with quick, short passing combinations.

The main benefits of this approach are that it can provide better cover agains counterattacks, and should make it much easier to counterpress since the players are much closer to each other. 's an article explaining the concepts in more detail.

Obviously this is an adaptation of the idea, and includes several "meta" choices such as the back 4 roles, which I took, with very slight alterations, from the default Katana tactic on this site. Furthermore, the extreme pressing setup works even better in FM than real life in my opinion, because of how player conditioning & stamina are implemented.

Finally, my overarching goal was to get really good results while playing a brand of football that makes sense, and get the best metrics possible in the following areas: PPDA, chances created, and possesion.

Results
I managed to win the PL and Conference League with Villa in my first season, while losing 2-1 to City in the FA cup final. I made no signings at the start of the game; in January I signed the following players:
- Tammy Abraham to replace Watkins (he demanded a transfer to Al Ittihad)
- Andre to replace Kamara (he wanted to leave for PSG)
- My DoF decided to loan Chalobah from Chelsea.

More importantly, I was able to reach my goals in terms of stats & style of play. I had 57% possession on average (5th best in the PL), while also achieving the following rankings:

Offensive:
Goals          : 88    Rank: 1st
Expected Goals : 96.86 Rank: 1st
Chances created: 231  Rank: 1st (City in 2nd created just 168 chances)

Defensive:
Conceded: 37  Rank: 3rd (best was City with 21)
xGA    : 37.8 Rank: 3rd
PPDA:  : 3.64 Rank: 1st (City was 2nd best with 4.28)

The two stats that best prove the effectivenes of the concept are in my opinion the chanhes created & PPDA. Both are huge outliers compared to the other teams in the league, and underline just how well this tactic can win the ball back quickly and immediately generate dangerous transitions.
