Effective tactics from FM20 often featured a back two in central defense with wing-backs in advanced positions, which created a strong area of influence around the middle of the flanks. Combining this concept with a Very Attacking mentality and TommyToxic's 343 Everton tactic yielded interesting potential for a high-tempo offense despite leaving the area behind the advanced wing-backs vulnerable. In a run used with Everton, it has proven effective against 4-2-3-1 DM AM Wide and 5-3-2 DM WB, while being able to hold its own against 4-3-3 DM Wide, a formation used frequently by high-level clubs.

Methodology:
- Friendly fixture with Second XI at the start of preseason
- Cleared out set pieces (producing a blank slate), load tactic
- No player-made changes to staff or team players for duration of run
