What's the thinking behind the different player instructions for each of the full backs please?
CBP87 said: I've tried mate but it simply doesn't work as well as the other ones pal, what change's are you making?

IFs to W depending on players I have, sometimes change AM to AP and been trying SS too.  Also sometimes offset it a little, so AMC>AMLC and STC>STRC

And been changing low crosses to whipped crosses, again dependent on players

And always all hard tackling/get stuck in turned off, first thing I do with any tactic
CBP87 said: We've tried mate but these types of tactics aren't as effective as these ones, trust me, thousands of tactics have been submitted, all different shape and sizes but nothing it topling the 424 at the moment

it's not just the shape though

Pretty much every tactic has the same back 6, the only variations you see are the front 4 and everyone has:

short passing
high tempo
hard tackling (which is the 1st thing I turn off on all of them, makes very little difference to results, makes a huge difference to bookings and suspensions over a season)
pass into space
counter
counter press
distribute fast

etc etc etc

For the love of God, somebody do something different :|

PS for record, I do like your Katana 4231, 104p v3.11 is my favourite, but maybe do that with something other than ST-IF-AM-IF - I adapt it a little to the players I have available, but love the concept

to be fair there is not much to differentiate any of the top tested tactics, it's getting a bit dull

Need somebody to come up with something very different, a good 3 at the back system, or a change of tempo, or something more direct, just something different, come on tactic geniuses :)
first thing I do with any downloaded tactic is turn off all the hard tackling, I just don't like it, and always seems to lead to more sendings off IMO
Is 'Electric' the one that usually gets higher possession?
Grimlock said: Dude, honestly, normal play and holidaying is one of the most inaccurate ways to test tactics

Just look at the FM-Arena RNG test, even in a "perfect" league the RNG can be as high as 25 points when it comes to a small test like 38 matches - https://fm-arena.com/thread/2713-10-944-matches-tested-fm-rng-measured/

Birmingham is predicted 17th, it's one of the weakest teams in the league, so the RNG is huge in this case. Normal play isn't a proper testing, especially, when holidaying because the RNG is huge. it's more like a roulette.

For example, here's my test with Birmingham using this tactic, as you can see I got the 1st place with 103 points.

Bear in mind, Birmingham is predicted 17th.

I totally understand, and agree to a point, I am after all a software tester by trade.

Nonetheless, with the tools and functionality available to me in this scenario, my personal test is as good as I can get it, I've been honing it since Kevin Tom's Football Manager on the BBC B circa 1983 :D
Been a big fan of knap's tactics over the years but this one is just not giving me the same results as others have seen. ran on my own test save on holiday mode twice in the Championship with Birmingham, got 71 points 1st test in 7th, 2nd test 78 points in 6th.

Katana 3.1 with same test scored 100 points
Sorry to say, tested this twice on holiday mode and did not see even close to the results other have, ranked only 63rd out of 67 tactics I've personally tested, don't understand how this has scored so well in the FM Arena tests, have never seen my own results differ from the ones here so drastically
I have spent the last 2 hours looking for this 'ykykyk weights' and can't find them anywhere, any pointers please?
