Manager takes the credit, so manager's attributes affect the match [you can see the manager's name doing touchline shouts on the commentary bar when you watch the highlights]. Decided to do this because I was weirded out when I played a save with this tactic and the team scored quite an amount of goals using an underdog team. So just holidayed to the next match each time, assistant selects the squad & clicked on the 'instant result' button.
Perhaps it's something for the admins to consider for FM25's testing league; In what way? I'm not too sure. I'm wondering if the assistant managers in the testing league's human teams have the 'manager role' at maximum?
Oh uhh I don't mind at all about not getting an excellent rating for this tactic, it was just an experiment anyway. Just thought this was weird.
Somewhat unrelated here, I've noticed that some tactics work more for underdog teams if either Team A or D is higher up the testing league table
Edit: Forgot to add that my manager has a Continental Pro License with International (Global Level) playing experience, with the attributes leaning more towards the mental side
dzek said: I can confirm that "Play Out Of Defence" TI works in a regular season. It just does need a different approach in general. This one is an example with a 1.3 point difference from the first tactic in the table:
With Cagliari, I could only manage to get into the top 6 with 3 ATB tactics on here using Kippa Sim & Buldak Park Balanced; the rest scores loads (65-75) but concedes around the same amount, so I wonder how this fares in the testing league
I think the key for 3 ATB tactics to gain an 'excellent' rating in DB 3.0 is to make one that can generate loads of 1-0 wins [its equivalent] in the testing league since 3 ATB just doesn't generate enough 'box threat highlights'
Loads of build-up highlights for 3 ATB tactics generally. Paradoxically might have to make one that generates more build-up highlights that go nowhere [but no 'play out of defence', this really doesn't work across the board in the ME], but great at 1-0 wins [if anyone's interested]
So I just lowered the defensive line for this version. I'm assuming this works because of how it affects the players' passing angles when they win the ball?
This is quite fun! But 'play out of defence' doesn't seem to work against the teams in FM arena's testing league despite doing well in your save. Maybe it's possible, but it's a whole different formula for the Team Instructions
Seemed like they were missing out on some clear cut progressive passes
Some PIs taken from 433 Digital
Standard attacking width, slightly higher tempo, no prevent short GK distribution
Around same GD as Buldak Park Balanced 5.7 using Cagliari, idk man it's really hard to make a back 3 overpowered

Ah, thank you! Might test if it'd work with other structures
Note to self:
Can't use the Spanish League for testing I guess, results vary too much for my liking when switching leagues
Also, I think 'play out of defence' could pass a watch test of 400 matches

This didn't work as well with Granada, managing to score only around 70 goals with 50 goals conceded in 2 tests.
