I tried exactly that. It works great with City, but when testing it with a lower side it doesn't do that well..

I'm trying to make a tactic without wingers to work, not to have 64-65 rating, but be above 60 at least. I am not a big fan on wingers...and i hate that they get relatively low ratings on fm...and unfortunately I quite like to have players with decent ratings on the pitch
I can't seem to make any tactic work with central mids of any role. Do you guys had any success using them? It seems in fm24 that central mids of any role are useless..

Yup, you're right. Interesting with that SK on support
Droid said: It's been explained many times. By default, the tactics are sorted by "points" but the tables shows you the "rounded" numbers when the actual numbers are "64.3625" and "64.239".
Bear in mind, that even 4,000 matches tests still have 0.5-1.5 pts RNG.
In general, if tactics have the same rating then there won't be any noticeable difference between then in a normal save, which means in a normal save a tactic 64pts(EXCELLENT) rating would work for you as good as a tactic 59pts(EXCELLENT). I know how it works, but thanks . It's just awkward ). If judging by the goal diff it should have won more games, but yeah there are other factors involved. It's just funny how football works
I'm testing it now without overlaps or undrlaps to see how it goes. Practically underlaps or overlaps with hold up ball, makes the player hold it much more, thus slowing the game, maybe?
Are you also the mr hough with the 433's (triple striker) back in the old fm days?
hmm, didn't think about that, great advice!
60 pts with 2 x CMs https://fm-arena.com/thread/8769-lionheart23-4231-1-2-1/
57 pts with 2 x CMs https://fm-arena.com/thread/8251-red-general-433-cm/
According to this test - https://fm-arena.com/find-comment/31474/
In normal game 49 pts tactic gives you about 95 pts with Man City which more than enough for titles
So in theory if you prefer playing with CMs then in FM24 you are able winning trophies playing with CMs just fine
I have a tactic with 57 points with cm's, good to know that, thanks

Holp up ball yeah, it makes huge difference, but i'm curios if overlaps or underlaps make it hold it too much
