Here are the relative impacts for each position: DLR (Full Backs):
Kortrijk media pred 16 selected team by adding 3 attributes for each position, won the league comfortably. Made only 2 transfers you can see on screenshot WBR i bought, guy have Pace, Acc and Jumping... and nothing else and he done fantastic.
FmArena responsible for canceling FM25, poor SI needs to completely re-work match engine to actually have some use for 90% of attributes that didnt do anything in the game for last 3 editions.
Season with Werder Bremen: Sold slow players, keept only four players in first 11 from original team. Bought fast players( pace, acceleration, jumping reach, stamina, anticipation, dribbling)
won the league very easy, proving that speed is everything. tactic used odessa 1.0( from Babemocni) can you test it please?
Due to all research done by this website FM25 will be postponed untill november𤣠they need more time to re-done whole match engine, otherwise it will be Pace and Acceleration again
So the meta attributes for the wide positions + striker make sense. What about DM? Are they more CDs in the sense I should look for Jumping + Strength or should I look for Pace + Acc more?
Asking because I've tried Alexandropoulos as DM (17 Pace + Acc) and his ratings were really bad. Also I use 2 holding DMs so I guess they are more CDs than offensive midfielders.
What is your opinion? Any DMs you recommend? Expand
selected fastest players in the team including DM's, didnt look at anything else(jumping reach for CD's)
Would be nice to have option between IR and playing matches like "very fast" only comentary, which takes you trough game much quicker but still gives you time to react.
I love all this attributes testing and all "science" around FM its all great, but if You watch Vujevic channel on YouTube where he is winning leagues with small teams using common sense aproach looking for players for each positions makes You think that balanced attributes gives best results.

What I really loved is that I could play ANY style I wanted if I had the right players.
I won leagues with mid-level teams using a very solid 4-1-4-1 formation, with counter or defensive mentality, a very deep defensive line, with no pressing. Most of our matches were like 1-0, 0-0, 2-1, etc. We didn't score much but also rarely conceded; even stronger teams struggled against our defense.
I also had success with slow-tempo, short-passing tiki-taka tactics, getting 65-70% average possession.
Then on other saves, I went full attacking with a 4-2-3-1 formation (2 MC, 3 AMC) and scored the most goals in the league, even though we weren't the strongest team.
After 10 years, I came back to FM, and I'm disgusted by FM2024's match engine. Apparently, nothing works except gegenpressing. Tactical instructions don't make any difference. I can't get results with slow-tempo tiki-taka or catenaccio styles even though I have the right players.
I read about FM-Arena in a Reddit post and found it very useful. Your tactical instructions and attribute testings basically verified what I feel after ~150 hours playing FM2024: most of the tactical instructions don't do anything, except for a few like high tempo and pressing. And most player attributes are meaningless, except for the meta attributes. This game is seriously broken.
As I skipped every FM between 13 and 24, what would you guys say, which one has the best match engine? By "best," I mean the one where I could succeed playing any style of tactic I want, not just high tempo gegenpress. Expand
