Tactics without a strong midfield seem harder to do this year but this is my best attempt so far. Central defender can also be a libero if you have someone capable but the role is a little rubbish so I didn't use it.
Interesting to see somebody tweak my tactic from fm22! Unfortunately it doesn't appear as strong as last year.
This year, strong defensive midfield is important. But last year everybody high up the pitch with attacking roles could be successful. Great result with Valencia
When running tactic tests by going on holiday, I'm occasionally having an issue where the tactic is changed/ignored despite selecting the option to use my tactic when away. Anybody else seen this issue? It appears randomly after several uses of a save file and then I have to delete and re-create the file from scratch to get over it.
I had this issue in fm22 as well, wondered if anyone else has seen and has a solution?
I don't understand how this is 55 points vs 51 points for the original by ntr master.
Same team instructions, same positions/roles, same set peices. Only the PI for right striker has been added to match the left striker. Surely that cannot be worth a whopping 4pts/season? That's a huge margin as far as this ~75 season sample size goes. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm playing around with Libero tactics and I want to keep 2x IFs and a lone striker. So far, playing around with the wingback roles (WBs/WBa/CWBa) and two deep CMs (double VOL, VOL+DM, some rpm combos) and I'm really struggling to make something that scores enough.
ZaZ said: Libero usually works better than a third central defender in my tests. They step up to the DM position and allow the DMs to get further forward without leaving spaces. I agree with you that the middle is too busy with them and two central midfielders, but I was just setting this up as a benchmark to develop from there. Next version will either change the midfield to two DMs plus SS (3412), or use two DMs and change to a single AF with two IFs by the sides (343). Expand
Sounds good, looking forward to it. With a good creative libero working and a solid back 3, I’d like to try something like volantes in the middle running up and down, maybe on support. I would guess two DM roles would be too defensive with 3 centerbacks, but not sure
Can I ask why you haven't used counter press? 99% of tactics seem to use as a default.
Use of DLP(D) + DM(S) in the middle
Tested with Ajax in Eredivisie

It could be that for this specific tactic those changes make such difference.
It just seemed such a big difference for a small change, of course its possible.
To be fair, when I check the GD and see +5 GD improvement per 38 game season, suddenly doesn't seem so big a difference now

Thing is if the ME is very different then the best ones could be tactics that scored poorly previously
This is my attempt to get a Libero tactic working
Tested with 2 teams in holland

Volendam (predicted last) finished 4th
103 goals scored in 34 games for Ajax
Also given Libero and RPM are both playmakers don't they tread on each others toes a bit creatively?
So if 2.5CA will get you 1 point in acceleration but 8 points in teamwork, its still probably worth it. 1 acc > 8 teamwork probably, which is crazy
