That is just based on personality. Some players are more lazy while others are more hard workers. What they think is irrelevant, it just makes some of them build more or less unhapiness, which is countered by the happiness they gain during training sessions like match practice. I wouldn't worry about that.
Against stronger teams, a good trick is to start the match with Cautious mentality, then change back to Positive or Very Attacking on the second half. It works because players from stronger teams crack down at half time when not winning, or get complacent when winning even by one goal. Then you can surprise them and snatch a win while their performance goes down. Against weaker teams, it's often better to just start with Very Attacking mentality. If you are also training Light Blue and Dark Blue, the change in mentality won't affect your tactical affinity.
ARE THE ABOVE MENTALS STILL THE APPROACH TO TAKE?
- Use Light Blue 3.0 when you have a comfortable lead. It's a tactic developed to concede less goals, receive less cards and save some energy, at the cost of less scoring opportunities. - If your only objective is to concede less goals, then change the mentality of Blue 3.0 to cautious, so it doesn't decrease your chance of winning. - Use Dark Blue 3.0 when you are desperate for goals. It's Blue 3.0 with very attacking mentality.

A little late to the party but I just got fm21. I haven't played since fm18 and decided to give this game and its best rated tactic a go. I will do the alphabet challenge in which I manage across the european leagues in alphabetical order.
I started with Laci in the Albanian league. Media prediction 6th. This tactic is giving great results. What I've noticed is that whenever I lose or draw, the opposition scores after the 80th minute while playing with instant result. Is there anything I can do to avoid that, like a match plan or something?
Edit: An amazing 25 match undefeated run allowed us to achieve the double, amazing performance of this tactic. Off to Andorra we go

It's normal for this kind of tactic to concede by the end of the match. The reasons are the high intensity, which makes your players tired by the end, as well as complacency, since you are usually winning by the 80th minute mark and the team just relaxes. You need to counter that with pep talk, shouts and substitutions, as well as rotation to avoid fatigue (not to be confused with condition, you can see fatigue in the medical centre).
It works even in one of the most amateur leagues. The only 3 games I didn't win in the local competitions were the typical games in which you shoot 20 times and the oppositions only shoots 1 but scores. Also won the cup and the super cup. In the Conference league qualyfication we beat Linfield and Qarabag, which was unexpected.

Yeah, there is nothing you can do when your team just refuses to hit the goal. It's actually a hidden mechanic to make sure people don't always win. When you are winning too much, players get complacent and some strikers can get into long goal droughs, even if they are Messi and CR7. It just can't be helped. Some hidden stats contribute to that, like Consistency and Important Matches.

Just make sure to check your medical centre so your players don't get fatigued. With good rotation and managing their complacency/pressure, you can be champion in the first season.
I will. Nice tactic. One thing i am struggling is that some of my players getting unhappy with high volume of quickness training or they think they should do more tactical/technical training. Should i listen them by adjusting your advised training schedules?

Just ignore them. They are unhappy with training, but if you check the dynamics, they are very happy because of other factors. It's not worth it to screw up their training and attribute gain just because they are lazy. I usually allow my players to complain the entire season, even if they want more play time or new contracts. If I talk to them and they say it's fine, then I let them whine. If they have the guts to confront me and ask for what they want, then I check how important they are to the squad and give in if they are worth it, or get rid of them if they are not.
For the shadowstriker position, what's best? Players with a good 'fast striker' rating or with a good 'AMC' rating? Thank you for this amazing tactic. Promoted 3 seasons in a row with no transfer budget.

Learning a new trait - my mob are down in the Vanarama zones playing ZaZ Blue. Generically speaking what "new trait" would suit each positional role to learn?
e.g. Def. winger > hug touchline or come inside, etc?

Sorry mate, you've lost me there, are you saying to use tighter marking?

I meant using Mark Tighter instruction is worse than not using it, at least for this tactic.

If you aren't trying to optimize for injuries in training, would you replace the Recovery Sessions with all Ball Distribution?
