I just downloaded the game saves of Cyan and Blue tactic and the possession difference is about 5% between them... honestly, I don't think it's worth bothering with possession, especially, when you trade 5% possession for 5% better result

I used it about 5 seasons and it worked flawlessly for me.

I find in FM it doesn't take long to train a player a new position so you really can easily build a team for any formation.

Exactly, CA numbers is quite meaningless because the playing rating at the positions also costs CA and different attributes have different importance in the ME so two players might have the same CA but one of them can be much more efficient than other and this table proves that - https://fm-arena.com/table/9-important-attributes/

Unfortunately, there are no natural AMC players which also are very fast in the game or maybe there are just few and they cost billions(like Messi) so most of time you have to retrain strikers or AM RLs to play at the AMC position.
I suggest picking players who have at least 'Unconvincing' rating at AMC because usually it doesn't take a long time to improve their rating to 'Accomplished' / 'Natural'.

But I must add that I follow Magician's advise and change the mentality to Very Attacking when I think I can take more risk and become more attacking

yes, I know you can have it that way but it gives a very vague value.
That was surprising for me too. It's shame that Consistency is a hidden attribute and you need an editor to see its value.

You can turn any paced striker or inside forward or winger or attacking midfielder into SS
