Exploring the idea of utilising the Enganche with this shape with IF´s on Attack plus overlaps to compensate for the lack of attacking threat from the AMC position
Better score with Luton this time (better GD, position and points). Was trying to see if we could have more solidity in defense while keeping the same attacking power and hopefully this midfield changes have helped achieve that.
Saw today the Arsenal game vs Brighton and thought about trying to create something similiar to what they did while keeping in line match engine meta stuff. Odegaard was playing really high up the pitch today so I tried to use Shadow Striker to get the most out of goals and assists of the position. I gave him Roam from Position so he can drop deep as well and help with combos with Saka and Partey (segundo volante).
The Segundo Volante plays in the half space kinda like an AMCR a lot of the times so he scores a lot of goals and assists as well.
The regista is like your Declan Rice, he will give you a feeling of your trational DM as he sits a lot of times in front of the defense the only diffence is that he is more mobile on the pitch wherever the ball goes in transition.
With the choice of the FB I tested the IFB but to be honest it didnt seem to provide enough assists or late overlaps in the box as Ben White normally does so this combo felt better and defending its pretty solid too.
Mentality from Balanced to Attacking Added Focus on both Flanks Removed Distribute Quickly Added Stay Wider DCR and DCL Removed Dribble More from DC Wiped the PI´s of both Defensive Wingers and added Shoot Less Often to both Added Take More Risks and Dribble More to both AF´s
Tactic scored a lot of goals but was also more leaky so not really sure how good it can do here. No magical set pieces were used, just going vanilla holiday. I did another test with Take More Risks on both Defensive Wingers and all that did was to even out the contribution of goals and assists to those players (we scored less goals anyway) while making the other ones perform a bit less so maybe this version can be the key.
Changelog:
Shorter Passing - Slightly More Direct Passing
Added Overlap Right and Overlap Left
Changes in Roles:
CM (S) - AP (A)
IF (A) - IF (S)
The run went rly smooth with those changes as the AP seems to occupy the central attacking space a lot better.
Changelog TI:
Removed Overlap Right and Overlap Left
Changelog Player Roles:
RGA - DM (D)
MEZ (A) - MEZ (S)
