opq
wide + underlaps to finish this test off
poirer xiv with wide as only change
poirer xiv narrow with change from overlaps to underlaps
crizeKOS said: can u test the same stuff with underlaps?

gonna do with width first :)
So, narrow width didn't make the best defensive formation any better and made best attacking one worse both at attack and defense.
ok, not just cosmetics
just narrowing things
3PF with minimum width
@Delicious  Poirer XIV with minimum width

p.s. made it only to see if width is cosmetics too :)
Tbh I’d take just like that: guys it’s no need to play only with this tactic. Look, you can change this and that and result is +- the same if just this approach suits more to you. And yeah, sometimes it makes a tactic really better, and sometimes much worse xD
Tsubasa said: I think you're right and this test also proves it - https://fm-arena.com/thread/2874-defensive-line/

BUT I also think that for some shapes the Defensive Line still might have a small effect because as @crizeKOS said "Higher Defensive Line" improved the result of XMAS_twkd3 but the improvement was a quite small it could be just the RNG

I’ve got 3pts more on mistakenly uploaded twice tactic. And both runs there were 1920 games being played. So I wouldn’t seriously take +-1-2pts as a straight result of little tweaks to initial tactic :)
Steelwood said: I don't think the defensive line has made any difference between higher and lower

it looks uhm obviously that LoE matters and D-line is just a cosmetics
so, if initial was this

why don't just remove non-working RPM with change to DMsup and give some love to poacher finally

mentality to balanced
+overlaps, pass into space and overlaps
standard d-line +get stuck

should test it with Haaland ofc
Spoiler
y, it's definitely the case, like I've made mistake with uploading already
and it's a cautious reminder for those who chase +1pts, that even on 1920 matches there's still RNG :)
PFs paradise
and back to cautious
DMsup, AF to PF, team pressing 3/4, lower D, still high LoE

Pool result might be better but Salah missed 6 months

I'm bit exhausted with 3atb tactic tweaking, so lets get exhaust with 433 (or 451 if someone prefer to count insides as midfielders)

Back to initial tactic for start of FM23, but now with latest approach I tried with 343 tac

It's just sad that my favorite formation is slightly shredded its productivity this year, mainly because of mezzalas' nerf. So gonna try it without them but with BBMs.

Pool results:

Brentford:
Spoiler
some positive tension from 2IFAF verse

with slightly shorter passes and trending lower D-line
oh, and finally back to Virgil Saint-Maximin approach aka dribble more on BPDs

one with DMsup

second one with roaming Registas (which I prefer more and hope it will get more pts than DM version)

Zippo said: Here's an another example, it could be that the only what "Overlap" or "Underlap" TIs do is setting "Attack" duty for the full backs or adding "Get Further Forward" to them.

So if your full backs already have "Attack" duty and "Get Further Forward" PI then adding "Overlap" or "Underlap" TIs won't have any effect.

yeah, and that might cause, that sometimes with already attacking FBs it's ok to be w/o any approach play
Zippo said: PIs modify the values set by TIs and if the values are already set at the maximum level by TIs then adding PIs that further increase the values won't have any effect because the values are already at the maximum level.

Also, adding some PIs have the same effect as adding some TIs so adding both won't have any effect.

Was it tested?

So Tis set across all positions like that: Work ball into box = shoot less, get stuck = tackle harder, run at D = dribble more, and Be more expressive = roam?
Then it gives simple explanation, why so much PIs are messed up, and yeah it gives understanding of non-working PF, as almost every tactic is already with max press on on Tis
one thing I can't understand with tier 1 roles is this

it's almost the way everyone uses AFs + close down, which in theory should be even greater, but...
