Yeah, playtesting the tactic saw the IWs bombing forward even when on support and 'hold position' so I thought meh just let them be attack then AM is just an attempt to replace SS... Purely because it's easier to find players to fit the role LOL
Useless_v2_4-4-2 Hi FM-Arena team, please help to test 'Useless_v2_4-4-2'. Team and Results as in the attached.
Tactic is a tweak from 'Useless_4-4-2', where I realized : 1) ACM : Wanted to see how a different role will perform, also opens up player pool availability since SS is a bit uncommon 2) IW (S) > IW (A) 3) IWB (A) > IWB (S)
crizeKOS said: @MemorizableUsername I wonder if we would at least keep the score changing SS role with any role in the mid or even a support one in the attack trio. Expand
Principally looks similar to Guardiola's ManC tactic with the exception of AF being traded for an Attacking Midfielder role, though this may work better
LOL ! Trying to figure out how to get the team to retain possession a littttleeee better now though, seems to be the tactic's most obvious weakness at the moment.
3lueprint said: Quick question cause I am new to all this tactic stuff and google doesnt have the answer. Do inverted wing backs work better with players that have there strong foot to the opposing side to cut in like using inverted forwards? Expand
Good question ! While I have no conclusive proof, I don't think it matters : 1) The IWBs are not driving into the box or taking shots (nor do you want them to, cause they tend to have abysmal finishing) 2) They tend to make the simple pass to the IWs in front of them or long passes from deep
Personal simulations are with Liverpool, Trent on the right, Robertson on the left they get ~15-20 assists each per season.
Less goals scored, conceded the same for some odd reason. It could be bad RNG but early simulations with Liverpool saw them not challenging for the title by Oct/Nov... Normally we would be 1st/2nd by then
- Removed 2 PIs from the IW (risk taken and shorter pass) - Added da Half Back throug the middle - Added stay wider for the BPD - Removed the Cover role from one of the BPD - Removed tackle harder from GK + back four + HB - Removed low crosses Tactical Instruction
Ty once again Expand
Genuinely interested to see how this works out, some roles / PI I did was to address the 'Negative' feedback on the DataHub on things like 1) IWs were losing the ball very frequently 2) A lot of goals were conceded through the middle 3) I did try HB also, but the simulation results were bad (could be terrible RNG though)
Yeah okay, I didn't expect the tweak to do score this high... Well at least we know the 4-4-2 diamond works with IW, which dramatically increases the player pool
Some pieces of advice : 1) Set Piece : This just uses the default set piece routine, so if you have one that works better definitely use it ! 2) DM (Def) : As tested in 'its Christmas tweak 4', there is minimal difference between DM (Def) and DLP (Def), you can swap around... entirely depends on what player you have available
Also, like any other tactic this is not a magic bullet - It just helps them perform better / more consistently... Rather you should pick a tactic that suits your current team to bring the best out of them

Unworkable_4-4-2 Hi admin, appreciate your help to test 'Unworkable_4-4-2' tactic. It is a tweak from @Chocorelo19 'Prometheus', where the IF are moved to WM position to help in defense,
Ran 5 seasons (holiday, no transfer) as Liverpool, summary of results : 1) 4 x Premier League Winners (Average Points : 94) 2) 5 x Champions League Winners 3) 2 x FA Cup 4) 2 x EFL Cup 5) 4 x Community Shield (vs Man City)
I don't understand, what am I missing from the submission ?
I like that..good attack results

LOL ! What a coincidence, I'm testing a 5-2-3 spanner tactic now too... though not getting as close as this.
Could totally learn some stuff here
For example ?
Hi team, would appreciate your kind support to test a new tactic 'Unreliable_4-3-3'.
Team and Results as in the attached.
Tactic is a tweak from 'Useless_4-4-2', where I wasn't too happy with what the SS was bringing to the team.
81 goals scored. 83% win rate.
Sorry, that loss against ManU is unacceptable
- 1 from IWB (A)
- 1 run at defense / IW PIs
?
haha
LOL ! Trying to figure out how to get the team to retain possession a littttleeee better now though, seems to be the tactic's most obvious weakness at the moment.
GK : GK reflexes
IWB + DM : Endurance (stamina)
Everyone else : Quickness (Pace & Acceleration)

Not much difference, entirely up to your personal preference and player availability. Ultimately most good DMs make good DLPs.

I made some changes on Useless_4-4-2 built by @MemorizableUsername:
- Removed 2 PIs from the IW (risk taken and shorter pass)
- Added da Half Back throug the middle
- Added stay wider for the BPD
- Removed the Cover role from one of the BPD
- Removed tackle harder from GK + back four + HB
- Removed low crosses Tactical Instruction
