No, not at all. They are taking a generic approach across all positions. I have attempted to harvest all the data I could to try and distil it down to each position. Like everything in life it is a judgement call, and I am happy with mine. I dont know if you have followed all my posts, but I am playing 3 teams in 3 different countries - St Albans low tier England, won Vanarama South when favorites to be relegated, Macarthur FC A-League mid table side won A-League, Holstein Kiel mid tier side Bundasliga 2 side won Bundasliga 2. Second season St Albans equal leaders VNL, Holstein Kiel 3rd in Bundasliga and Macarthur yet to start their campaign. I am thinking the ratings are working. But like @Egraam said, the ratings are really comparing positional ratings not the best players.
BeRe said: actually me too, dont undestand it.if i go and do these changes on rating what does it change in genie?how can i use it?

Click on the GS logo top left, then mouse down to Ratings, then Edit Ratings. You can then replace what is there with the ones I have provided. Probably best to save the existing more you edit though so you can go back if you need to. To save, click on the Rating button bottom right. Save as a different file when you have finished inputting and you will have access to both sets of ratings and can move between them if you choose to.
It is for current ability. It weights the attributes in relation to the position, with the higher weighting being the most important attribute.

Here is an example. Standard ratings on GS of my Central Defenders at St Albans

My ratings of the same Central Defenders

Not much between them in the standard one but wouldnt you definitely buy the top one in my ratings. They are ranked by the column on the left which is the DC current ability
At this post I highlight the least costly most beneficial training attributes in order by position. This is for Individual training / Additional focus. Pick the attribute that needs most improvement for individual players for the position you want to play them in. You should also be training the player in the role you are going to use them in the Position/Role/Duty

Hope this helps.
I use Genie Scout - see my ratings for Genie Scout at this post:

So use use all relevant attributes weighted.
Here are my most important attributes by position

From my experience playing FM you need your side to be scoring around the 2 points per match to be competitive and a chance to win the title in most leagues. When I look at the FM Arena table, and the top 100 tactics, the 100th tactic is only 5.5 points overall behind this over a season.
Given we have other weapons in our arsenal, eg we know the attributes that are key for each position so can maximise talent, we have training schedules that get the most out of players, we know how to go about keeping player morale up, I think you could realistically pick any of the top 100 tactics and be a successful manager.

So when looking at the FM Arena table look for a tactic that is in the top hundred and suits the style of football you want to play, not just the top rated tactics.
I am very happy with how Sponge Bob V9 has been going.  At a rating of 6.4 this tactic is only 3.5 points in a season behind the 2 points per game. I might experiment with a few other lower ranked tactics of interest as well.

Here is a run with Liverpool in holiday mode.
I have gone back to the old Sponge Bob tactic and tweaked using advice I have rea on other tactics. Changed Full Backs and Wingers, removed tight marking, put in ZaZ Blue 3 set pieces and adjusted for formation, and adjusted some other positional instructions.

Did my testing against my old testing database and the results come up better than ZaZ Blue and Phoenix. It tests the bottom and top rated team for each English Division. Hopefully closer to them now on FM Arena.

EPL

Sky Bet Championship

League 1 - Charlton Manager sacked at end of season

League 2 - Salford Manager sacked at end of season

Vanarama National

Vanarama North

Vanarama South

I have drawn inspiration from the original Sponge Bob and from Afterlife by @Zealot. Trying to come up with a formation that no one else has used that still taps into the winning formula for FM21. I have done limited testing but it appears to be pretty decent, see results below.

Championship

Sky Bet L1

Vanarama National

Vanarama South with Ebbsfleet and St Albans

No worries just wanting to make sure the right author is attributed. :)
I downloaded this tactic from the SIgames forums 6 weeks ago. It is listed as a TFF tweak from his FM20 tactic Cerber V4. The poster was Gojke and when loaded the author was Lakerol.

I think you will need to add screenshots of the tactic and some results with it before they will test it mate

You didn't read the rules, I have to go for my closest playable club. Canberra should have a side back in the National Comp, but they don't so I have do go with my closest playable club mate.
I like the idea I read about last year, of managing the club nearest to where you live. My sister lives in St Albans (which has an English 6th Tier club - Vanarama South), I live in Canberra Australia closest club Macarthur FC A-League, and my mate was born in Kiel Germany, home club is Holstein Kiel Bundasliga 2. So my save I have 3 managers and play all 3 teams which are so different in standard and location that there is no cross over. Makes it really interesting. Into my second season
Here is an example for my Macarthur side

Team Report / Analyst Report / Comparison. Then for attributes you can select the ones you are after eg Mental, Physical or Technical - it will then compare your team to the league average
I would run with Yusuf Demir - affordable and could be better than many more expensive players in a year or two in the game
BulldozerJokic said: I still don't understand how neither Balance nor Dribbling ended up in the table, while these are the fifth and fourth most important attributes based on the "important attributes" test from this site. Yeah, there is dribbling for AMCR(L) position, but that position is not presented in the tactic used for the test.

You can read the rationale and the updated calculations at post 31 on page 2. I wasn't looking at this in a tactic specific manner, but across the board for any and all tactics. Read through post 31, I think it will explain what I was trying to achieve.
This is looking like the best attacking formation for this formation so far.
