Thanks,
I wasn't expecting much in my testing and I don't expect much from the testing here. I know the test is with City but I have to admit I was surprised that it achieved 104 pts in the league, my expectations for it were for it to hit probably hit no more than 90 pts, so the result surprised me hence why I put it on here to test
I've removed what I feel are risk taking instructions from both team and player
Changes -
Removed pass into space Removed run at defence Removed take more risks from FB, DM and AM Removed move into channels from AM Removed Dribble more from BPD
I bring a 42121 formation, I wanted to keep the double pivot of the DMs as well as keeping the IFs striker combo however looking at tactics that have been submitted recently the CF role seems to be quite useful so wanted to test this using that.

Thank you
and it depends, I normally leave the tactic as it is to be honest and let it play out, however there are times when leading away or against a big team that I change some instructions to see the game out. Dropping mentality to balanced, removing get stuck in, prevent gk short distribution, high press and all the risk taking that comes with the tactic, also add time wasting
I'm going to take this little bit of time, because of where this tactic is in the first place in relation to its formation, to say a few things. (I don't know if it will remain in the position the tactic is in now as I write this)
After several tests I've done in the past, mostly on the 24.1 version, but also some on this one (24.2) here on FM-Arena I've noticed some things about the testing league and I want to share them with you.
AI managers have mostly the same attributes as each other and that means they play and approach matches in the same way. It also means that they use the same roles (each formation among themselves) and because of that the formations and the way one builds tactics in general and tests them here is generally quite predictable as to what the outcome will be.
Let me give you an example. All AI managers without exception use IWB(s) on DR and WB(a) on DL and after my own testing and that of others here and elsewhere we conclude that IWBs inside FM24 are weak at defending. So with that in mind I can simply put in 'Focus Play Down The Left' & 'Overlap Left' and I will get better results with almost all formations and roles that encourage these moves. There are other things though I think you get the point here.
At this point I want to ask, ultimately what are we trying to create? A tactic that will get the most points within the testing league or the best possible tactic that will get the most points within regular careers?
The reason I ask this is because within the testing league there is no diversity in terms of the opponent and with that being said simply the best tactic here just beats teams within the testing league and not sure if it will pay off the same in a regular season/career.
In closing I want to say that for me, as far as this particular formation is concerned, the best (my) version is this and not this one.
Thank You!
PS 1 I am not writing this to confront anyone or to malign the practices of the staff here at FM-Arena. I certainly appreciate the work they do and in general for the space they have here and hosting us.

I have to admit, I prefer to use positive or balanced mentality in my personal saves and I don't often release them especially the positive ones as they seem to do so poor in testing.
Lapidus said: @Artabora, once more, it is a very bad idea to do that because even if those "selected players" have terrible conditions something like 40%-50% "Red Heart" Conditions then the assistant manager will still pick them because that's how "use current team selection when available" feature works.
Again, if you test without FMRTE then you should never use the "use current team selection when available" feature because without rotating the team the result will be much worse than with using "rotation" Expand
Maybe but the likelihood is that the player will start and due to his physical condition will be subbed off
"He is putting the players in a role but not locking them in"
Mate, what exactly do you mean with this? Is there a way to lock a player individually? Expand
Yes, select use current team selection when going on holiday. You don't have to have a player in each role. If you select 3 players and tick that option then those 3 should start when available and the other roles will be selected by the AM
He was a beast on FM, not so sure about his ability in real life
Delighted I think

Hey, Thank you
So determined to get a 451 over 60!!!
Changes -
Right DM to CMa
Added overlap
CFa to AFa
Hold position to DM to add extra defensive stabilty when CMs move forward
I'd say it's a gegenpress with a little sprinkling of wing play
AM in charge of team selection other than Haaland
This was one of the reasons I asked for 1200, 2400 and 4000 matches test results to be shown so that we could track the progress of the tactic results
Loads of tactics have achieved that and some have achieved even more points
Thank you

Some very good points made there though
Invincible PL season. only 2 defeats in all comps
