Ah didn't see that but surely it would make a difference because if you're playing a left footer on the right wing then they will be cutting back to their strongest foot and the same with the other side so essentially playing an inverted winger
Tsubasa said: Why do you want to change the wingers to IW or IF? Expand
To be fair to @mushy366 I can see his point, a lot of teams have right footed left wingers and left footed right wingers. I would probably say changing the left winger to an IW or IF may work as the Mez on attack duty will cover the space left by them but I would try and buy a right footed winger for the other side
Tested with PSG and West Ham, AM in charge of general training and team selection. No editors used.
PSG won everything, remained unbeaten in all comps. Scoring 230 goals in all comps, Icardi top scoring with 44 goals. Ball retention was good achieving 2nd highest possession and pass completion in the league
West Ham finished 3rd in the league, I believe they are predicted 9th. Scoring over 120 goals in all comps
I have created a 424 using Target Forwards on support duty, the idea is for the TFs to drop deep pulling their defender out of position leaving space for the Inside Forwards on attack to exploit. The other roles I've gone with what I know to be solid as well as the TIs. I have also updated the SPs to a recent suggestion from another thread that I posted a tactic on.
I tested with Everton and PSG, AM in charge of general training and team selection. NO EDITORS USED! I would recommend a the target forwards to be strong but to also be good with their feet but expect your Inside Forwards to get the goals for you.
Everton predicted 11th, finished 3rd and won FA cup. Richarlison top scored with 20 goals, Van de Beek with 19 assists.

I have created another variant of Mongoose, I wanted to create a variant that was in possession but still kept its solidity in terms of goals scored and conceded. I predominantly use a version of Mongoose in my saves and tweak them slightly to adapt to my squad strengths.
Role changes -
IWBa to FBs BPD - CD DWs - WMs
TI changes -

Once I felt that the tactic was doing well in my save, I tested it with Villa and PSG. NO EDITORS USED!!! AM in charge of general training and team selection.
Villa
Finished 3rd on 78 points, joint with Liverpool but they had a better goal difference. Watkins scoring 37 goals. Villa having the 4th best possession stats in the league
PSG
Won the treble, Mbappe top scoring with 49 goals, highest possession in the league with 59% and 2nd highest pass completion with 91%
The God said: I would very much trust me on this. My friend is in 2037 and they played their first 2 teams as Glasgow celtic. Their first one they won 8 - 0 in the league. Then in the champions league they won 10 - 0. I have tested it a few times with some smaller teams but I know this tactic can compete. Expand
You need to showcase your results for it be tested plus showing results will back up what you're saying and by results, I don't mean show us one or 2 games, show us how it performed over a season
Bogeyman said: I'd suggested to be very careful with a limited testing of 38 matches because it can be very misleading and the result may easily vary up to 20 points with exactly the same tactic and the same team. I think "Offside Trap" is well proven TI in FM22 and I would think twice before dropping it off. Expand
I agree to some degree, but I also think your players need to have the correct attributes to be able to play the offside trap, I often find that mid - underdog teams simply don't have the required players to be able to be able to play it, but elite teams can still do very well with or without it
Tsubasa said: @CBP87, the OP looks really confusion. It's hard to find the difference between the versions. Also, it isn't clear which result belongs to which version. Maybe, it's better to leave only one version which works the best for you? Or you can add the difference between the version and separate the results? Expand
I've updated the OP and the tweaked post with the name of the tactic version
I've updated the set pieces, throw ins have been amended as per feedback from @Bogeyman however not fully replicated the top tactic. I have also removed use off side trap as when testing with Villa, the results were much better with Villa finishing 3rd on 84 points. Just felt more solid for them. Conceded less goals and scoring more. Ings scored 26 goals

it'll come down to how the tests rules then, I've had some tactics score less than what I thought was an absolute banger, I mean Brussel Sprouts did amazing in my tests but didn't even manage a 4 rating. Its just the way it is I'm afraid
The teams used may not fit the tactic as well as the others, my understanding is the teams used are quite well rounded but that might not mean they are the same quality as the team/s you used to test
Nikko said: Shadow Striker isn't a pure striker, he plays at AMC position and contributes a lot to the defense so I guess having good work rate and decent defensive attributes will be beneficent. Expand
Ah shit!! my bad, I thought the SS got carried defensively by the rest of the team but essentially he closes down the opposition as a PF would. Sorry yep, change my mind Haaland as SS and Mbappe as AF
