The forum thread mentions Phoenix v3 and notes "we've tried decreasing Acceleration and Pace attributes for different tactics and the result was almost the same." I suspect the importance of physical attributes (plus dribbling and vision) demonstrated by this test are exaggerated by hyper-aggressive tactics.

"Hyper-Aggressive" tactics have been the most dominant approach to play FM at least for the last 3 years. If a tactic isn't "Hyper-Aggressive" then it gets about 2.0 - 3.0 rating and it gives below average result in the game, IMHO, there's really no point in testing attributes with such tactics.

Have you tried this?
brainbox said: So I get that pace and acceleration are the main attributes to go for when buying players. But do all players such as DM or CB need these attributes? Or just the attacking players?

Any position greatly profits form high acceleration and pace attributes. These attributes are very overpowered in FM21.

Drof said: Not sure if this is the right place or if anyone can help as I am only playing FM21 Touch. I have only been playing this game a few weeks and have read a few posts about the lack of Newgens or Youth Intake from different countries. I thought I had read somewhere that this issue was resolved however I am in my 3rd season and there is a severe lack of youth intake from other countries other that England. I have seen an intake from Brazil from only 1 club of about 6 players, no other South America intake. Nothing from Italy, about 6 from PSG in 3 seasons no other French clubs and 3 from Ajax no other Dutch clubs.

Is it actually worth me carrying on my save any further or know how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

I also play FM21 touch and haven't been noticing any issue with Newgens or Youth Intake.

Honestly, I've been playing FM for about 10 years and never paid much attention the Youth Intake thing because I find it's very boring and seeing a good player from Youth Intake is meeting a unicorn. IMHO, it's a waste of time.
Defo, that's a long-awaited feature, at least for me. :)

If your team isn't the strongest team by far in the league then even with the most effective tactic the luck factor still play a significant role for you.

If you play with some mid table team in EPL then you can get 5 loses in a row but after you load and replay the matches you can get 5 wins with the same tactic.

The RNG is just huge in this game and the stronger your team compared to your opponents and the better your tactic, the less RNG you get.
babemocni1988 said: yeah but first season you finished 6th..

and I consider it as a very good result because the team had 12th media prediction before the season

then in the 2nd season I won the league and in the 3rd season I did even better, I won the league and Champions League

babemocni1988 said: and explane me why i am dominating again with the same players with different tactic after restarted season??

That's just the luck factor. When you play against a team that is equally strong and you do save/reload then you can get 5 wins then 5 loses.

I've tested it many times... sometimes you can lose 3-4 in a row but if you reload and replay them you can win them all.
babemocni1988 said: in every game again just like in first season wi5h this wonder tactic,so my conclusion is that in such a strong league,if you have dominated in first season, and you dont have players like City and Liverpool, you need to switch tactic, mandatory!

I completely disagree wit that statement.

Here's my experience of using the same tactic for 3 seasons with West Ham:

Hey,

I don't even know how many times I've seen someone says: "Damn, my tactic has stopped working. I'm getting a worse result in the current season than it was in the previous season despite the fact that my team has improved compared to the previous season. Probably, that's due to the AI has figured out my tactic and now I need to change it."

Argghhh... my eyes start bleeding every time I see someone says that.

The AI doesn't learn your tactic - there's simply no such game mechanics in FM.

So you might ask then why your results in the current season might be worse than it was in the previous season despite improving your team?

There are few logical explanations for that:

- Yes, your team might improved compared to the previous season but didn't you think that the other teams in the league might improved as well or further more, they might improved even more than your team. The AI managers don't sit idle, they also make transfers and try to improve their teams. The players in their teams also develop and they might developed even more than your players.

- When you do well the reputation of your team increases, which means the AI manages start to take your team more seriously than before and they start to use more resources in matches against your teams and that's why the difficulty increases after a successful season.

- You were just very lucky in the previous season and in the current season you are very unlucky. Yes, it could be as simple as that. Like in real life the luck is a significant factor in FM too. If you don't want depending on the luck then your team must be much stronger than any other team in the league but that's hardly achievable when you play in the most reputable and competitive leagues in the game such as English Premier League or Spanish La Liga and that's why these leagues always will be very challenging.

I strongly advise you to think twice before dropping your tactic because when you are unhappy with your results then your tactic might not be the reason of that and your tactic might be a very good tactic and there just might not be any better tactic that gets you a better result with your current players so it could be you that should think on getting better players and not on getting a better tactic because your tactic might be very close to the best what you can get when it comes to the tactic.

Here's my experience of using the same tactic for 3 seasons in EPL - https://fm-arena.com/find-comment/3397/

I urge you to stop spreading stupid myths, it confuses newcomers.
Dimartino said: I'm using your V5, and like a few other tactics out there, yes it makes you overachieve easily. BUT I'm getting VERY frustrated with the kind of games you see in the pics, that are happening way too often. Opposition keeper is usually MOM, and what can I say, I just feel like breaking my laptop in two when this happens!!!   Is anyone experiencing the same? Any thoughts on this?

Yeah... from time to time that happens with me too and I think you can't do nothing about it that's just how the game works. It's designed to drive you mad. :)

When I can't score I change the mentality to "Very Attacking" as Magician suggests and it sometimes helps.
Jdigits said: I love how attacking it is!  Would be nice if it could be tightened up a little at the back, cause i love the football it plays

I think it isn't possible to have it all. :)

if a tactic scores like crazy then it won't have the best defense.
jayZ said: is the same as phoenix?

Look few posts above. Pulsar said that it's a tweak of Phoenix 4.0
infxamus said: wow thats crazy, i think its just for me it doesn't work, the 2nd best tactic here the ZaZ just works for me better

I've tried both tactics Phoenix v3.0 and ZaZ - Blue 2.0 and I find there's no difference between them so you can pick any you like.

But for me there are 2 additional things that greatly improves my results:

1) Following this table when it comes the attributes - https://fm-arena.com/table/9-player-attributes-importance/

2) Using the very attacking version in the 2nd half when you need to score
infxamus said: Is it just me that's not being successful with this tactic? Even losing to Brentford, familiarity is full as well.

crazyfmguy93 said: I try it with Karabükspor. Media Prediction is 20. Not successful neither. I think it is not good with small team. My team defenders are shooting the ball forward without aim and opponent's attack start.

I used the Phoenix 3.0 tactic, the very attacking version and the conditions saving version for 3 seasons with West Ham.

I'd say West Ham is a quite small club, it's predicted to finish the 12th place by the media in the 1st season.

In the 1st season I finished the 6th place

The media prediction in the 1st season

The team at the end of the 1st season

The transfers in the 1st season

In the 2nd season I finished the 1st place

The media prediction before the 2nd season

The team at the end of the 2nd season

The transfers in the 2nd season

In the 3rd season I won the league title again and also, won the Champions League Cup!

The Champions League Final vs Man Utd

The media prediction before the 3rd season :)

The team at the end of the 3rd season

The transfers in the 3rd season

In summary for 3 seasons with West Ham I won 2 EPL titles and 1 Champion League title and that despite the fact my was still weaker than the top teams in EPL such as Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea
ZaZ said: Some players from other positions might have cheaper weights for important attributes and have good values where it matters, being a good idea to retrain them, even if they are short.

In my West Ham save I got these players:

Mykola Matvienko was covering 3 positions DL/CD/DR

Boubacar Kamara was covering 3 positions CD/DM/DR

Vitaliy Mykolenko was covering 3 positions DL/CD/DR

Pierre Kalulu was covering 3 positions DL/CD/DR

My 3rd season with West Ham went even better than the 2nd season.

I won the league title again and also, won the Champions League Cup!

The Champions League Final vs Man Utd

My team at the end of the 3rd season

The transfers

In the 3rd season my team improved comparing with the 2nd season but still it was only the 5th team by the media prediction. Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea still had better teams than me.

At the end of the 3rd season the board gave me Є93M Euro / Є237K p/w transfer budget but I think I quite the save because I've won everything already and it's become boring :)

Ok, I've just won EPL and Euro Cup with West Ham in my 2nd season with them :)

My team at the end of the season

The transfers I've made

The media prediction before the season :)

The board adores me :goofy:

ZaZ said: Would someone with similar stars but 5 cm more make a difference? Worth changing defenders  because of that?

I'm sure the minimal height for a central defender should be no less than 180cm and Jumping Reach should be no less than "11" because anything less than that would be too extreme.

I just don't get what is the point in going for the extreme values if there are a ton of fast central defenders who are taller than 180cm and having Jumping Reach higher than 11?
ZaZ said: Fair enough. I just wanted to know because I have rejected several good players, specially defenders, because they are too short. For example, I usually don't hire a DC shorter than 180 cm. Knowing it's not an issue would also allow me to retrain some DLR or DM into DC.

I've got this guy as one of the central defenders.

His Height is 182cm and Jumping Reach is "11" but you've seen my results :)
