Koopa said: do you think fm23 'exposes' blue's defensive issues? i never used to have this many goals against me in fm22. also, the foul rate is definitely cranked up from fm22, to the point where i'd have anxiety in late game situations with so many bookings Expand
To be fair, Blue from FM22 was already sacrificing defense to score more goals, so I don't see it as much different from last year.
Thanks! Fire 0.2 is almost as good as Blue 4.0 from last patch. I'm still checking the new instructions to see if I find something new, then I will play a bit before checking the old instructions again.
Kaczy said: And how it looks when You give Your player for loan? When they play on loan increase looks same as they were playing in our main squad? For my experience in 2022 when i gave player for loan and they play in every single game (even 7+ avarage rating) they are not developing at all. Expand
I always feel like players develop better in my reserve or youth teams than being loaned out. It might be just because I pay closer attention when they are around, though.
Solaris said: that thing with emergency meeting by the end of the season is annoying as hell, I don't know maybe it's bugged or something Expand
I have yet to see that emergency meeting in live play, but if I remember well, there are some new meetings for the squad planner if you have too many players unavailable (for example, injured), or if you are losing too much and they think you need to improve squad.
Board is way more willing to fire managers in FM23. During my experiments, I was fired a couple of times with Manchester City even after scoring over 90 pts in the league. Apparently, I'm refusing to attend emergency meetings by the end of the season, which results in them kicking my ass. Maybe they could wait a few more days for the end of my one year vacation. =D
smigler said: Thanks for answer. Little annoying feature for sure lol Since my last post I finished Serie B with points record and in the first part of the season in Serie A still keep good results with Green From disappointing Benevento game I stared using Blue at home more often and it works too! I have one more question. I'm in WC year and my players back from holiday at 2 december and league start again in january. Should I arrange some friendlies and normal training whole month or something changes here? Great tactic again thanks mate! Expand
You have time to rest your players from fatigue, but staying out of action for too long will decrease match sharpness, which can increase injuries. I would book one friendly per week, or maybe two if you can play with completely different teams (it depends on the size or your team). I would also let the assistant manager control those friendlies, but it's your choice.
Efka said: thanks for your reply ZaZ. Actually, with ur tactic it's easier to turn back the score when my team lost in HT. I slam em in the team talk and just keep give the encouraging shout, then suddenly i match the score . When im ahead, I usually change the winger to defensive winger but mostly it didn't work with teams like city, liverpool, n for fck sake MUTD. But still ur tactic is wonderful, so thanks ZaZ Expand
Can't be helped. The tactic can only do so much, and the extra quality on players will always make some difference. Thanks for the compliment, though!
Efka said: Hi Zaz, really love ur tactic. It's really entertaining but sometimes it's hard to retain the advantage even when I change the mentality to cautious/defensive. Any suggestion on that? I currently use Fire 0.2 on my second season Palace, it's good so far. I beat Barcelona in their home in a crazy thriller match Expand
Sorry, I didn't do enough testing yet to know what's the best way to hold a score yet. I assume changing to cautious can help, but it's just my opinion based on last version. However, the nature of this tactic is to have high risk and high reward, and despite taking some goals, it will usually outscore the opponent and have one of the highest goal differences around. The fact that Crystal Palace won against Barcelona in their home says a lot about the ability to overperform.

Koopa said: i've tested it with Luton town...def concedes way too many goals (even with my shit quality defenders) and tons of yellows and reds. That being said, I did end up in ECL spot in my second year (100 goals for, 72 against), by outscoring teams in crazy shootouts Expand
That's blue for you. Good times of FM21 where you could have awesome attack power with awesome defense.
Grimlock said: what results does it produces with less overpowered teams? Expand
Around 100 goals with teams like Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest. Anyway, tests are good, and I also started a collaboration with Max from Evidence Based Football Manager, so results should come soon.
Sometimes I get some absurd results like 163 goals with Manchester City in holiday mode (120 goal difference), and that gives motivation to follow in that direction. Most of the times it is just luck, but it's nice to feel like there is something broken just waiting to be discovered.
Yeah, they usually start only after release.
Yes, same training schedule.
Thank you for testing and showing so much data!
You really should upload your tactics to where they belong to
I'm still testing to see how a first version would look like. Real testing in FM-Arena will only start in almost two weeks, anyway.

Thank you! The more feedback, the better.
I'm testing the influence of Trap Inside x Trap Outside x Default at the exact moment.
Meanwhile, here is an improvement of Fire (former Blue).

There was not time to test yet, so I'm keeping the old setup.
He is testing just for fun. He is not trying to substitute the tests from FM-Arena.
