The Lone Wanderer said: Thought i would add a follow up after the first season.

This season we were top of the table from the very start (i imagine tactical familiarity and a good dressing room atmosphere from the previous success of last season helped this)

There was a point at the start of January where i thought it would all taper off and my team would struggle because of a few injuries and a lack of depth. This wasn't the case though. March was the worst month where players were tired from games coming thick and fast but even then we didn't lose much only picked up a few draws instead.

There were plenty of games where we won by 5 goals or more. Again am very impressed with this tactic and just thought i would show the continued success.

I was predicted to finish 19th.

Thanks for sharing mate, very impressive result, shame about the run towards the end of the season.

Best of luck in league 2

Thank you and I would say Yes it could work, but remember you can't just force a tactic on players, you need players for the style of play you want to play so recruit physical engines. I always look for players with good acceleration and pace and because the tactic is high pressing and very intense, I also look for players with good work rate and stamina
ShiftLeft said: Hi @CBP87 could you please mention all the in-game adaptatioms you nake, as I'm losing some wierd games, I out xg most of the teams but I lose aginst the last placed team 3-0 at times. What are the adaptations for games against higher vs lower reputation teams. Also my striker tends to have 6.3 rating very often, what do you look for in a striker?

Hi,

I often find I have the same issue when coming up against teams lower down in the league, you have to realise that these teams will look to sit deep, defend and hit you on the counter so you need to find a way to pull them out of position to exploit the spaces being left. I do this by lowering the tempo to lower, my team retain possession and slowly build up the play and this helps drag the opposition out of position.
Hello @gekan  and thank you for your kind words

gekan said: Now, in some matches all my players (my best 11) perform below average - is this due to consistency? I don't know, all of them?

what average's are you seeing? Someone may correct me here but I'm pretty sure there was a thread somewhere that suggested the average rating was 6.5 and anything higher meant the player was doing well but I would say yes consistency could play a part but also look at the player's familiarity with the role? are they suited for that role/are they playing out of position?

gekan said: 2nd question, during lots of matches, let's say almost half of them, my assistant suggests that I add the TI Work ball into box because the team looses a lot of chances. Is this something that I can safely add during a game?
This shouts that your team is missing chances, this comes down to player quality but you could also see who is taking the shots and maybe add the player instruction "shoot less often" to them

A 451 that achieved 104 points in the PL, scoring 144 and conceding 37. 5 trophies won including club world cup.

+19 on XG of 124.9, Haaland had 91 goal involvements (GI), 80 of those GI being goals. De Bruyne had 69 GI, scoring 37.

Best 11 selected, put Gvardiol in at LB. Holiday tested. Training and SPs let to AM

RawJah said: Wait, I meant that I let my Assistant with the best stats in both tactical attributes do the OIs. Am I meaning something else than you? If so, sorry. I'm german and play in german so I thought thats what meant hahaha :D

No that's fine, I get what you mean :)

RawJah said: btw and it has nothing to do with the tactic, but I need to get it off my chest. I'm playing FM/CM for more than 20 years now. Yesterday, when I wrote my post I was on a high because I was finishing my season and won the double for the 3rd time in 3 years and all was fun, then I lost the CL finale against PSG in penalties (god damn) and right now I'm having a very unsatisfying summer transfer window and am totally down. Isnt it crazy that this game still does this with us?

Yeah its crazy, I've been playing since CM 08/09 but really fell in love with the game when playing 01/02. It's had its claws in me ever since haha. What sort of player are you searching for? Sounds like you don't need to change much in terms of players, Were you the better team in the final?
Interesting
RawJah said: I just registered here to give my feedback on this tactic. I got FM24 in January after skipping FM23, so I looked for a good looking tactic that is in a "classic formation". I found this and used it for my first savegame in FM24 with Chelsea and although they have an expensive but very weird squad at the start and me starting with realistic I saw all them players come and go and had no chance in doing anything about it. I went invincible with Chelsea in the first year with a weird squad and won the league.

Second season I did some changes but didnt feel great about the team I got together (I had trouble finding my way into the new way of how transfers and negotiations work) I won the PL and CL, FA and CC in my second season. I think I did two more seasons with them and won the league each time, FA Cup each time, and went to the CL finale at least one more time.

I am writing all of this only to show how great it works. Thanks mate for making this tactic and sharing it.

Edit: Just because I just read your last post and "smashing every league" is the most fitting way to phrase my experience with it.

Btw. I use OIs because in my Bayern Save that I'm currently in, I absolutely smashed the league but had troubles in the CL. In my Chelsea safe I had used OIs and had non of the troubles and since I started using OIs with Bayern I had less trouble.

Sounds like you achieved some fantastic results, appreciate the postive feedback, what OIs did you use for your Bayern save?
Zippo said: @alex this tactic - https://fm-arena.com/thread/9578-katana-4231-104p-v3-1-27/ might scored that low due to the fact that the "Overlaps" TIs weren't the only instructions that were changed, I noticed that "Moves Into Channels" PI was also removed from AM, so there's no point in testing it for 32,000 matches because anyway, it isn't possible to isolate the absence of "Overlaps" TIs in that case.

I did initially forget to add that I have removed the move into channels on the AM in the opening post, I have since updated the OP.

V3.1.26 has that instruction on there however
Zippo said: Here's data for Katana 4231 104p v3.1 tactic with "Overlaps" TIs and without "Overlaps" TIs after 32,000 matches tested.

Judge for yourself.

There's no obvious negative effect from "Overlaps" TIs as it happened for the two previous "generic" tactics.

It seems the "Attacking" mentality or other TIs and PIs might influence on how "Overlaps" TIs perform and in Katana 4231 104p v3.1 the "Overlaps" TI even give a small positive effect which is about "0.1" points but don't forget even 32,0000 matches test also have at least 0.2 RNG.

Ajax said: I have exactly the same feeling, this tactic is very strange, using even the set-pieces that people use it unfortunately doesn't give me total satisfaction in the game.

I know it probably going to come across as me being bias but I have no issues with this tactic, I buy players with good acceleration and pace and I've smashed every league I've used it in
mattw123 said: i've used this tactic with man utd and i currently sit 6th in the league and am about to get sacked! shot count is crazy high, but i'm losing to liverpool, man cuty, chealsea and each time is 5-0. Defensively this is pretty dire. Are you doing these tests on holiday? it gives you different results

EDIT: I have just conceded 4 goals at home to middlesborough. SOmething isnt right with the defensive element at all

As a Bolton fan, that is music to my ears :D

But in all seriousness, There are no specific "shooting" team instructions and there is only one player instruction, shoot less often, which is applied to the full backs. It sounds like the team are creating the chances but the problem is finishing them. That sounds to me like player quality unfortunately. Look at who is taking the shots and see what you can do to restrict them from shooting.

How are you conceding the goals? is it from set pieces? who is in charge of your set pieces? if it is set pieces then download one of the set piece routines from here https://fm-arena.com/thread/9033-fm-arena-1-21-set-piece-best-hits/ *I'm not saying it is set pieces you're conceding from, just trying to see how you're conceding the goals*

Use data hub to see how the goals are being conceded and try to address them, do you have any screenshots from the games? if you do, can you stick them on here please

Your original Katana tactic hit 2.4 points positive RNG so to beat it at least by 1 point you need a tactic that would be better than your Katana by 2.4 points and also you need to hit at least 1 point positive RNG... I'd say that taks is almost imposibble :D

I'm more intrigued to see if the score drops and by how much
