Waves V2 and v3 weren't tested, I wonder how they would go with SS instead of AF.

Here is our Key Player. He played well in both DM and MC Position

And Here is the Best Player in the World now. Does this player worth to buy for 107Mil ? @ZaZ cause Im planning to bring him in

Congratulations! Did you get relegated the other season, or you survived and then won?

About the best player, I would totally buy him. I usually have a rule to try and improve at least 10% of my team every year. However, if there is an extremely good player that I know will stay in the team until he retires (can't ever find many better than him), then I would make the sacrifice.
Rince said: A new role Wide Centre Back has been announced :)

Seems like it's made for defenses with three players, acting as a central defender when defending and as a wingback when in possession.
Keshk said: Is there anyway to save some energy to my players for next matches while winning by 2 goals or more ?

Change mentality to cautious and add slow pace down to goalkeeper. You can also tell them to waste time often and stay on feet, but that will have a slightly bigger impact on your performance. If you don't care about performance because you are already winning by a lot, then you can also lower tempo to at least 50%.
@ZaZ is now @ZaZ. The change was made because ZaZ is the nickname I use in most places, and it was a bit weird to see "ZaZ - Blue by ZaZ" instead of just "Blue by ZaZ".
Manidaro7 said: @ZaZ

how many pre-season retreat weeks do you set?  Do you play a friendly match a week?

One friendly per week, for every week without an official match. The first week with official match I use the in-season training routine.

Remember that there are probably better training routines around there, that were throughly tested. Those are just the ones I use and I never did any experiment to optimize them.
ta2199 said: Yeah thats is my purpose for this season. Well It's a little bit suffering when watching your team get demolished almost every rounds. Now I know why people say EPL is so competitive

I guess you should look at it in a positive way. Every time you get beaten to a pulp, think how the hell a team as bad as yours managed to get to EPL. You should be proud of carrying those deadwood there.

just me said: man u

Manchester United are such a good team in paper, but I doubt they will get anywhere this season. Solskjaer just doesn't look like a champion.
ta2199 said: I'm managing Harrogate for 4 seasons
1st season: Predicted 24th - End up 2nd
2nd season: Predicted 21st - End up 3rd
3rd season: Predicted 24th - End up 2nd

Honestly for the 3rd season I dont want a promotion cause I know my squad is not ready for the EPL ( the tranning ground is poor, doesnt have enough staff, squad CA range about 70-110, also small transfer budget for new season).
In the 4th season now Im still 20th and that is fine because this was pretty much predictable. Me and my squad is just here for the money ( we have Balance of 40M for one season now and that will help very much for next season ).
But I do think there is a large gap between Championship and EPL. Because with other save in other league like Bundesliga, I managed Kaiserlautern from 3.Liga to Bundesliga and the 3rd season we currently sit in middle of the table.

Well, if you still have players on the 70's, then it's only natural that you are in the last spots. However, the money from EPL is too big compared to that of lower leagues, so even staying one year there and being relegated again will be worth it, allowing you to build a squad strong enough to survive next time you get promoted.
ta2199 said: @ZaZ Do you think EPL is like really hard for small team?. I'm currently managing Harrogate and sitting at the bottom of the table haha. Predicted but dont think EPL would be this hard.

It depends on how small is your team. If your team has an average of 90-100 of CA, it will be almost impossible, but you should still end the season around mid table, from 8th to 12th position. If your average CA is around 120-130, then you should challenge the title, as long as you don't let your players get fatigued.

The thing is, if you pick the worst team of the championship and go on vacation for the whole season, this tactic should make you finish around the 5th or 6th place (during the first season). That means if you manage the team yourself, you should at least challenge the title. However, when you come from lower leagues, you can bring a team way worse than those from EPL, because players don't want to move to your team (low reputation) and you don't have enough money (first season with the new budget).

In my run with Leamington (from the lowest division), I needed two seasons to win the EPL, because the first one was used just to rebuild the squad. I finished it in 10th with a squad of CA 90-100. When I won during the second season, my first team had CA around 120-130.

I also managed to easily win Brazilian first division with the weakest team, newly promoted, because the average CA of the league is lower.
Markizio said: I remember I saw that info on the official SI site, someone of the mods/devs said that Consistency and Important Matches modify a player's CA (although not every attribute is affected) so it might be that the physical attributes aren't effected(I'm not sure)

Hehe... to answer that it requires do some match calculation :)

If the physical attributes aren't effected then I would not pay Consistency any attention.

Yeah, I remember someone saying the same, that it doesn't affect physical attributes. It wouldn't make sense for a player to get weaker, slower or jump lower just because he is having a bad day.
Maxeneize said: Yes, I meant cohesion lines. My mind drew a blank trying to name them haha. It is weird, because both ss work together. Thanks for clarifying.

Also I am convinced the "second season syndrome" is just a myth. With decent man management you can improve every season without changing tactics

First season with Newcastle: 3rd in the league
Second season: Third in the league, Semis in the CL and winner of the FA cup
Third season... As you can notice looking at the stats I rotated a lot. That is very important

Good job there!

Rotating isn't as hard as people make it look. I recently added a column to my selection screen for "matches missed in a row". Whenever one of my reserves reach 3 matches missed in a row, I let him play a full match to rest one of the first team players. I also fully rotate when there are only two or three days to rest between matches. With a team of 22 players for three seasons, no one got fatigued yet, even repeating main players most of the time.
TobyTriceps said: Which is Blue and which is Solid Blue?

Blue 3.0. Solid Blue is the same as Blue 3.0, but with Cautious mentality and goalkeeper set to Slow Pace Down. I'll add it to the first post.
TobyTriceps said: @ZaZ Do you change the tactic when meeting a team quite worse than your own?

I had some experience that I can't score against a very bad team, and if push my players in front, the other team usually scores...

Not really. When you can't score against smaller teams, it's usually because of complacency. It's usually more effective to yell at them at half time than changing tactics.

Also, I usually use train three tactics: Blue when I want to maximize goal difference, Solid Blue when I want to minimize goals conceded and Light Blue to save energy and take less cards. I don't use a tactic to maximize scoring. Dark Blue is a very attacking version that was added because people asked, not because I use it.

Not sure what you mean by that.
Call @Mark, he had one.
GlynnLFC said: Sorry for the constant uploads im new :D Third match with the lib and the third match in a row hes scored over 7 rating!!...i think my tweak may achieve this tactic a 7.3 rating on Arena ;)

Individual score of a single player doesn't necessarily mean the tactic is better overall. You can create a topic for it to be tested, but I highly doubt it will reach the 6.5 score mark. I'm not saying it to be mean, but Liberos just don't work well in this patch. Any tactic with score over 6.0 is good enough to win championships and impress, sometimes with even lower score than that. I remember having tested the same thing before and the results weren't that good, so I just dropped it.

kcetin20 said: Guys any filter for attributes that has been shared/made yet for this tactic ?

And if not for what do i need to look for SS paced striker and convert it ?

Just remember you can also convert other positions to SS, like CM players.

Maxeneize said: Do you know why the 2 ss dom't get green arrows as opossed of 2 strikers or 2 cms?

I suppose you mean cohesion lines? I'm not sure why they don't get it, it might be just a bug (devs forgot to implement it).
Droid said: In FM DMs, Full Backs, Central Midfielder and Central Defenders get lower rating compared with other positions. I think the devs did it work like that to prevent these from getting Golden Ball ahead for Strikers, Inside Forward and Wingers(like it happens in real life) because in FM the average rating during the season is what's taken into consideration when it comes to the Golden Ball winner.

I believe they have a high weight for dribbling, and those positions don't dribble as much. Defenders can still get good score when they get some goal from corner, or when they make many interceptions/disarms.

Han106 said: Not sure if it matters but what's the recommended pitch dimensions?

MAximum size. Longer field means more space behind opponents for through balls, while wider field means more space between opponents, allowing for more through balls.
Fjonkan said: Hi @ZaZ ! Very nice tactic you got here. Im curious if you let your assistant manager take care of press conferences or how do you deal with them? Also, do you let him take care of the team talks?

Thanks! I usually allow the assistant manager to handle press conferences, but I do the team talk myself. Team talk is a golden opportunity to fix problems with complacency or pressure.
fortune35 said: Athletic Bilbao's first 10 games all look good.

Looking good there, keep us posted!

P.S.: Some players are starting to show fatigue. You can see that in your medical centre, as well as the symbol "Rst". Make sure to rotate to avoid fatigue, as that can make your players lose performance even if they are in full condition and match fitness.
fortune35 said: Blue 3.0? 2 SS ?

Yes, Blue 3.0 with 2 SS. You have almost two months to get your strikers to accomplished, when it makes very little difference from naturals. That's at least eight friendly matches if you play once a week, or even more if you play every 5 or 6 days.
