Black is a variation of Blue using two DMs. Since one CM was pulled down, I push both IWB forward so they can ocupy the center of the field when in possession. this formation was not tested yet, so I decided to see how it performs here. Tactic and results are below.

dakiri said: Yes, this tactic is probably my favorite of the top options on the table right now. I've played quite a bit with Zaz Blue, Void, and my own Cyclops tactics, and dabbled with some of the others like Phoenix. Anything in the high 6s or 7s is going to be really successful, and it's hard with the eye test alone to see what's best. But 1 thing that most of the top tactics have in common is that the goals "mostly" come from players in the middle of the pitch, and wide players are mostly there for supporting play.
Afterlife plays very differently, with the two WMs contributing nearly as many goals as the Shadow Strikers up top. It just feels really different and varied when compared to other top choices. My own complaint is the "very narrow" instruction, which sometimes leads to 6 players all crammed into a small space and a lot of blocked shots...but I think it's definitely better than the alternative here, and if the players are creative and smart enough it can lead to some really attractive quick passes/combinations. It's a really fun tactic to watch. Expand
In my opinion, the best part of this tactic is to have two DMs instead of one DM and one CM, meaning you have an easier time building a balanced squad.
ta2199 said: But does hidden attributes affect alots ? I usually buy players with 12+ consistent. Love to see fm-arena test those attributes Expand
If I remember correctly, consistency is a very straight forward attribute. If you have 12 consistency, your player uses maximum attribute in 12 of 25 matches, while if you have 20, it uses in 20 of 25. I don't know how much is reduced, but I heard that's how it works.
I just want to point out that the dude created some monsters with maximum height and weight, as well as maximum speed. Imagine if Messi was 2.12m tall and strong like Cristiano Ronaldo, but with the same ability to dribble and move around. =)
It would be nice if they could test the impact of Height and maybe Weight to add to the table.
wixta79 said: great tactic, using the training schedule, i keep getting players moan about no attacking technical, any fix? Expand
My fix is to ignore it. I don't think players complaints about training have any impact in the game, it's just a mechanic to add unhapiness and make it harder to manage the squad. However, other factors of happiness are enough to make players delighted, which allow you to simply ignore those complaints.
I have read the whole thread and would like to start using your tactics and training on my fm21 save. I wanted to ask you, how do you set the workload in the rest screen in the workouts section? Expand
I usually only touch the last part, for players with excellent condition. Double during pre-season, normal during in-season. I used to go double during in-season as well, but the injuries, fatigue and condition impact usually made me regret it.

Thank you for testing. Despite what some people say, you do a good contribution to the game community. It matters very little if you do it for the views or for love for FM, what matters is that you do something that helps others and not everyone is willing to do.

In additon, I found out that tactics without throw-in set pieces were also highly rated at the table as those with it.
Is there any experiment on the Long throw-ins effect, conducted in 21.4.0 patch? Expand
I did experiment other types of delivery, but long throw-ins just performed better. Some times it can generate counter-attacks, but more often than not you will find yourself in a good position in the middle of the field with good passing options, usually with opponents out of position, creating good attacking movements.
Machismo said: Do you guys do all the contracts yourself or use a General Manager? Expand
General manager sucks. He always pays double or triple of what players ask, as well as lots of useless promises. Even when I hire a general manager for the scouting knowledge bonus, I still don't let him do anything.
Machismo said: RE- CA/PA is it most important or in say Premier league is a swift player with only CA 130-139 good enough to compete well in EPL? Expand
You can definitely win Premier League with a team of CA 130-139 if you use one of the top tactics. However, players with higher CA will make your job way easier, requiring less work with team management. However, if the difference from player A to B is just 5 or 10 points in CA and player A is noticiably faster, I would probably go with player A.
P.S.: My method was considering you can't see players CA/PA, but if you can see it, just add those stats to the player search.
Machismo said: How many weeks needed to gauge a player on trial? Expand
One or two weeks, depending on how much you know about the player already. I usually ask trial for four weeks, then release him when his attributes are revealed, if I'm not interested.
drhay53 said: Did you do testing to determine that out-swinging corners are better?
I've also noticed that the "lurk outside area" player on attacking corners picks up a ton of yellow cards due to fouls on corner counter-attacks. I usually switch it up so the DM is lurking, just to get a player with better defensive attributes into that role. Expand
It's not viable to test all variations of set pieces since they often have very little impact in results. What I did was comparing set pieces of different tactics to find out which was better in each type of set pieces. Then, I assembled those components into a single tactic. You can see the discussion about that in this topic here: https://fm-arena.com/thread/967-set-pieces/
Machismo said: I can't prove it but the teams positivity/enthusiasm drops in-game when the lads from the Team Leaders group are dropped from the match. And while talking about leaders how can I improve leadership trait in a player? Expand
There is an option to send a player to a leadership course.
drhay53 said: What do you think is the quality where one should transition between red and blue? In particular to improve chances in the champions league. Expand
Red does better in those tests that have CA 140 team and CA 165, for the weaker team. However, I played Blue with great success from the lowest leagues to the top.
Elpitcho said: I understand what you mean but there is no sign of this i swear, everybody is happy and motivated, they react very well to my talks, i don't give them any opportunity to complain but don't know why... might be kind of a sufficiency feeling about the tactic. Is the tactic supposed to work indefinitely I mean in long term without any tweak season after season ? Expand
Despite what some people might say, all tactics in FM21 work indefinitely. There is no artificial intelligence to adapt to your style, the only mechanisms to avoid complete dominance are physical and psycological factors, like fatigue and complacency. What happens is that some people get used to thirty or fourty matches without losses, then they can't understand when they get five losses in a row, even if it goes back to sixty matches undefeated after that.
I have a theory that those lose streaks can also happen when a high number of players fall into "not consistent" matches. There is a hidden attribute called Consistency that basically defines the probability of a player to play with full attributes, else he plays with reduced attributes. If one or two players get inconsistent during a match, it's hard to notice, but if it happens with five or more players at once, you start seeing mistakes everywhere.
Unfortunatelly, two bad matches are enough to lower the morale and spiral out of control. From FM-Arena tests, morale is one of the most important attributes for team performance.
What I mean here is that it's fine to get a bad sequence of matches, that doesn't mean the tactic stopped working. It just means you need to fix morale, physical condition, psychologic factors and be patient with the randomness of consistency. If it goes badly with a good tactic, it would be even worse with a less effective one.

I use double during pre-season and normal during playing season, but you might also benefit from double during weeks with just one match. (P.S.: I usually leave it on automatic so I can change the entire team at once.)
About potential, just like real life, players have higher growth at certain ages and start declining physically after certain ages. For example, a player with 30 years old will hardly improve much while a kid with 17 years old will most likely gain +1 to +3 in each attribute during a season.
Not sure if it's me, but I thought FM2012 was the best one in comparison to the previous editions. If I remember well, the graphics from match engine were way more pleasant than the graphics from now, despite movements being more stiff since it was an older game. However, I don't play any of the old ones because I think the newer games are better overall.
drhay53 said: Again it's a lot of effort to manage your rotation and you'll need a deep, gelled squad to keep your results up. I don't particularly think it's realistic to have to rotate quite this much, but it has a huge impact on injuries so I can't pull myself away from it. Expand
