Considering some of the top tactics don't win everything all the time, that's a very good result! Good job!

isit said: hi e congratulations for the tactic...:)...can you help me ? i wanna recreate this, for fm 2020 ...thanks in advance :)

In the topic of Blue 2.2 (linked in the first post) there are specifics of the tactic, with player instructions and such. I believe @RDFTactics will make a video about it, so you can watch and see everything, including set pieces. He usually reviews tactics very throughly.

Markizio said: Hi,

Can you run your test 6 times for this tactic and see how the result fluctuate?

I usually run 5 tests and pick the median of each statistic when comparing tactics, but for this one I did only one run since I wasn't trying to become the state-of-the-art.

P.S.: Actually I did 3 of each role to choose between AF, PF or f9. I didn't test other roles like DLP.

Added "Close Down Less" to CDs and DM

I don't know. Gonna test it and give you some return.

I won all trophies! What a great tactic, thanks!

Wow, that's a lot of goals there! Good job!
RDFTactics said: Hey, somebody shared this tactic of the SI forum, along with a different tactic, but was wondering if i could make videos about them? my YouTube is www.youtube.com/rdftactics incase you want to check my videos out first.

Let me know. RDF

Sure, just add a link to the first page of this topic so people know where it came from.
Poacher said: The tactic fits very well Atletico Madrid.

I had an incredible season with it, won everything. :woot:

Thanks for testing! It's nice to see teams that are not favorite, like Atletico, winning everything.

Great result!

Thanks for testing! If you want only one striker, then Comet is better. At least now people have some options for tactics with real strikers.
Same as Blue 2.2, but with one SS moved forward to ST position. I created this tactic because some people prefer to play with real strikers, but it performs worse than Blue 2.2. I chose PF because it suits my taste, but you can probably change it to AF or another similar role without much impact.  Just like Blue 2.2, you can change the role of DW to W or DLP to DM, with similar results. This

This tactic uses the same shape as Comet from @Pulsar. However, PF plays in the right side because the SS from right side was the most advanced in set pieces from Blue 2.2.

Tactic and results for holiday mode are presented below.

Let me know in the comments how it performed for you!
Sandro said: @ZaZ, it looks like you forgot to upload the tactic. :)

Thank you for reminding me!

I am now running tests for the last tactic with real strikers, similar to Comet. Since it's  almost the same thing, but using Blue as a base, I'll just call it the Blue Comet. Just running a holiday season to get results to show.
Same as Blue 3.0, but with both SS moved forward to ST position. I created this tactic because some people prefer to play with two real strikers, but it performs worse than Blue 3.0. I chose PF because it suits my taste, but you can probably change it to AF or another similar role without much impact.  Just like Blue 3.0, you can change the role of DW to W or DLP to DM, with similar results.

ta2199 said: @ZaZ Do you think add closing down more -> More pressing would increase the tactic efficient ?

No. I tested and it gets worse.
Same as Blue 2.2, but with MC moved forward to ST position.

I also made a second version with DM moved forward to MC position. The tactic and results for holiday mode are below. As you can see, they have very similar performance, so use the one that suits you the most.

Pulsar said: Yes, you are right this is a tweak of Phoenix 4.0. I turned the left shadow striker into the advanced forward and it seems the tactic still works really well.

Well, people have been asking for tactics with strikers for a while. Good job doing it for them.
I might be wrong, but this seems to be Phoenix 4 with one SS pushed forward. I supose it is very close to the best you can get with one real striker.
Mark said: @ZaZ It nearly replaced that Johan Cruyff tactic that I put up at the bottom of the table

I'm actually surprised this managed to be better than the other.
magicnut said: Test results very dissapointing.
That being said I am not sure if I uploaded correct file!
I may have saved a earlier tactic as v5 by mistake.
I will rework the tactic now to try to make less Ass hopefully brang it to minimum 5 rating.

If you allow me to comment on it, I think you should remove the team instructions to overlap left and right. Those instructions tell your winger to hold the ball and wait for a marauding wingback to run from outside and reach the byline, crossing the ball to the center. However, inverted wing backs are set to cut to the inside, meaning they usually do underlaping movements instead. They are also set to cross less and from deep, creating a conflict in those instructions. You are also focusing the game through left and right, meaning you are enforcing that conflicting behaviour, which in turn makes your team perform worse. Play much wider is also negative, the inverted wing backs cut inside to the midfield and actually favor a short passing game, increasing your numerical advantage through the center.

Another thing that I would change is the instruction to force opponent outside. Inverted wing backs are set to sit narrower, meaning they leave more space outside that can lead to crosses. You would do better removing it or forcing opponents inside instead.

Another solution for those two problems above is to simply change inverted wing backs to wingers or full backs, instructing them to stay wider and move forward to do the overlap. That way they would do the overlap properly, benefit from playing wide and from playing through the flanks.
DuG said: no problem thank you, my bad for not reading the previous posts XD

No problem, I didn't mean to be rude.
DuG said: Would this tactic work with me moving the 2 SS into striker postions if so which postions would suit it the best?

As I said two posts ago, I'm working on it.
Accolade said: @ZaZ Hands down to you and your tactic!
After last patch I started to get frustrated as no other tactics was working for me... until I found your's.
It all makes sense in it, and I was so close with  my own tactics but still so far away.
THANK YOU!
And guess what, I'm not even trying lol I got back with a Newcastle save (only bought 1 player, Portuguese youngster), plugged in you tactic, and after 3 matches and 3 wins I beat Liverpool 5-3. I say that "I'm not even trying" because I play with Carroll and Wilson upfront LOL
Leicester 0 - Newcastle 1 (First match with this formation in January)
Newcastle 4 - Millwall 1
Newcastle 1 - Aston Villa 0
Newcastle 3 - Man City 0
Newcastle 5 - Leicester 0 (FA CUP)
Liverpool 3 - Newcastle 5
Newcastle 1 - Arsenal 3 (had to rotate)
Brighton 1 - Newcastle 3
Newcastle 5 - Southampton 1 (then I stopped)
(sorry but I'm too lazy to get to know how to post screenshots)

However... I would love this tactic to be similar but with Strikers.
I saw on other thread of yours (ZaZ 2.0), replying to other user, that he could try this formation with Strikers.
I tweaked Blue 2.2 changing SS to Pressing Forward ATT - not changing anything else, but I felt I lost something.
Can you help?
Can you do it?

Even if you can't... KUDOS to you!
Cheers!

Thanks for the compliments! I'll try getting a variation of this with two strikers. It will take some time to check the best role for strikers and if MC will stay there or be moved to AMC. I'll see if I can post it in one or two days.
My mind can't stand this much asymetry...

I've tried change to DM(De) - The goal concede is less but still get bad point.
I got 2nd with Fullham, only 1 point behind Liverpool

I might be wrong here, but can you check if a DM with higher Jumping Reach gets better scores than a DM with lower Jumping Reach? I noticed that pattern in my DMs, but need more testing to confirm this.

P.S.: Other possibilities are Strength or Aggression, so I will be experimenting to see which one does the trick.
