Ajax said: Hi! I hope you'll be able to repeat this tactic on FM 25. I've just tested the tactic with Portsmouth scheduled to play .... last in the league. Finished in PL the first season, best attack with 100 goals scored. No transfers, basic squad, with the original tactics.

Hi, thank you for sharing your test results, I'll do my best to replicate the success of this but I'm pretty sure somebody will upload it before I get the chance to :D

I wouldn't say a huge difference but without underlaps has the edge when it comes to testing

Mate, you're thinking about that training schedule to increase acceleration and pace. This is a differnet thread, he was asking for tips on how to improve results when using this tactic. This was just a suggestion, the training is something different.

You can train the role you intend to use the player in for a weeks and still keep the additional focus on quickness, once you've happy with the familiarity then drop the role training and just following the training guide
flob said: But how do you train a role, I don't understand that part. The training schedules are about quickness, recovery, attacking (assuming you use the 7x recovery one as example).

I also don't understand how putting the same tactic on all 3 slots will make a player faster familiar with a tactic then having 1 slot filled and 2 slots unfilled. To me, it still uses that one and only slot no?

I am not judging btw, just trying to understand what you mean :D

https://fm-arena.com/thread/1520-tactic-familiarity/

Training a role via the development screen, so for example if you have a striker who is a natural striker but you're using PF and he is suited to AF role then it will take him longer to familirise himself with the role, where training him as a PF will help him familirise himself with the role because he isn't only playing it on match day but he is also training for that role, once he is fimiliar then you can stop training him in that role and concentrate on the training, doesn't take long for them to get familiar
flob said: What's the point of putting the tactic on all 3 tactic slots? Aslong you have 1 slot with a tactic, it only used that slot right? To ask secondly, isn't training a player to a different position then it's natural position a waste of CA resources? That's what I understood from the whole new training proces.

By putting the tactic in all 3 slots it will get your players familiar with the tactic quicker, roles and position are different, if you've got a striker then you can train him as a pressing forward. I'm not saying retrain a position, but by training the role you'll also speed up the familiarity process

copy that schedule into your training schedule
pixar said: Is there a softer version of this tactic?

For conditioning and a more defensive style. A version that I want to switch to after at least 2 or 3 points.

@CBP87

I haven't created one but if you follow these steps on the video that Zippo did then you should be able to create an energy saving version of it. Its things like reducing the mentality to cautious/balanced, removing tackle harder where applicable, reducing the press and defensive line, reducing the tempo, wasting time etc... I'm not on my laptop at the minute so can't create one just yet
nijak05 said: I agree. Had a lot of success 1 season but 2 season opponents are more defensive so not scoring as much as I used to do - this can be a factor of a lot of things.

Do you change anything for hard away games?

I tend to lower the tempo one notch, I find that teams normally just park the bus. So by slowing the tempo down its in the hope that I retain the ball a little more with the intention of the opposition being dragged out of position
