In pool, would you use Robertson and TTA in DW position or IWB? Thanks!

See "Important Attributes" section in first post.

In short, if you have two players that you want to use together and they can play IWB and DW, I would use the one with highest dribbling as DW.

Above average tactic plus fast players is usually enough to allow any team from lower divisions to challenge for the title. It gets trickier as you go up, specially around Sky Bet League and Premier League.

I've been using this on my Charlton save. I started using it towards the end of my first season in the Prem after back to back promotions from League One using something else and I'm now in season 2 of the Prem.

It's really starting to kick in now that I have players suited to the tactic and they are getting the green links, see the attached run of games!

I watched Tooka's video on the tactic and noticed the pass map issue with the DW's and IWB's standing on each others toes. I started having a play with the roles to try and get them separating out a bit. Putting them on Winger Attack has a hug impact on position, they fly up the pitch.

After a while messing around with it I thought 'Zaz has probably done all this already' so I gave up haha

Thanks for testing! Yes, I tried W-At before and it was slightly worse. Not much, so you can keep it if you want. You can also try to make IWBs into WBs so they don't cut to the middle. As a side note, it's not so bad to have players nearby in that area, it also means your flanks are well covered.

Guidito said: Hey Zaz - how would you line up in this tactic with Pool and City?

Just think of IWB as a normal wing back or full back and DW as normal wingers. Then, just put players in their best position.
Now, 20 matches in the season, Concord Rangers are finally in the lead. Unfortunatelly, we lost in our second match from FA Cup, which will be a blow to our financial goal. I expected to reach at least middle to later stages in order to reach one million euros of rewards and become professional, but it won't be possible this year anymore. In my defense, Plymouth are leading the League One, which is two divisions above mine.

Managing the squad is way easier this year with 15 players. I plan to renew contracts with all players by the middle of season and hire a couple of new faces. I want to end this season with 17 to 22 players.

You're welcome!
treath said: Yeah. Just like that.

I tested every role. The team keeps winning but my player keeps with the lowest grade (RPM, DLP or DM support).

Whatever DM player keeps with the lowest grade independent of the role.

(sorry for bad english)

Ignore the low grades. What matters is win rate, which translates to titles.
Second season, now promoted to Vanarama National League. As expected, media doesn't have high expectations of my team, predicted last by a large margin. Facilities are still the same as last year (didn't even update the screenshot) and finances are in the same level, with nearly the same wage spending as last year (214k per year, sorry if you use salary per week or month). Squad was fully renewed with free players, except by one player that had longer contract last year (DL - Jordan Aina).

After ten matches, things are going pretty decently. I expect to be promoted as champion, but I am still two points off the leader. Note that my team is very young, with only one player as old as 21, and I even got all three young players of the month from my team. The player in best form is also shown down there.

Anyway, I had some problem with injuries, but things should improve after recoveries. I hope to become leader in the next ten matches and progress well in the cups, winning FA Trophy and progressing until later stages of FA Cup to get enough money to become professional.
bjarmeister said: Hi @ZaZ.
Do you have left footed players as LB and right footed on RB? Or do you invert them, like the role is intended?

It doesn't matter, they perform equally well with either foot. They don't cross or shoot enough for the foot to make much of a difference.

drhay53 said: Anyway my point was simply to give you something to think about when you start looking at set pieces. Not criticizing the current tactic or anything, but I have found that I needed to get rid of low crossing when I actually wanted to have a chance to get on the end of a corner. Maybe it's placebo but I thought it was worth having someone who makes the better tactics test out.

G'day :)

I didn't take it as a critic, I just think there isn't much evidence to support your claim. With low crosses, my teams are consistently scoring lots of goals from corners, around one every other match, so I don't see a reason to change. For example, in my Concord run, I got four goals from corners in two matches, one after another. I watched all those corners two or three times to see the behavior of players during those set pieces and they seemed perfectly fine, including the trajectory of the ball to the head of defender in near post.

I really think the height of the cross from corner depends on the taker and RNG, and not in anything you can set on tactics.
Low crosses are definitely crosses by the ground, to the feet. Crosses from corners are clearly to the head. I don't think they are related.
drhay53 said: I'm 90% sure that the Final Third cross setting affects corner delivery trajectory

Hardly. At least with me, corners are being sent to the head of DCR (near post).

If I ask for something, I would be very happy if you could do it when you are available.
Can you take a trip to the champions league with the worst team from the lowest Turkish leagues?

I will see about that later, since it will take at least seven to nine seasons before I can challenge UCL with Concord. Not sure how much energy I will have to do it all over again.
venomenom said: I'm sorry if this seems as a bit of a noob question. So I downloaded genie scout, uploaded the ratings and everything. My question is, how do you find players for specific tactics, for instance yours @ZaZ

Genie Scout will just show the current rating and potential rating of all players. You need to filter the ones that match what you are searching, like age, position, sale price and minimum current rating, then press enter. After that, you need to talk to them inside the game and see if they are available.

By the way, you need to change the rating from default to the ones we provided, clicking in the start button in the top left.
LoamLuke said: Hey @ZaZ,

I have done the same as @FMAddict, (removed Tackle Harder from all positions except for the DWs where they are locked) and found that it doesn't affect my results negatively.  I did this for two reasons. 1- to reduce the amount of yellow cards. 2- in some matches, mainly against poorer teams, I find that I can struggle to create chances due to the rhythm being disrupted because of too many fouls being committed.

Regarding the DW role. I am reluctant to change the role because I love the pressing from the DWs, but what would you suggest to do if the DW picks up a yellow card? Because Tackle Harder cannot be removed, would you suggest substituting the player? Or would changing the role to Winger Support be ok?

You can change DW-Su to W-Su and set it to have higher pressing intensity (trigger press). You can only increase the intensity after you decrease the pressing intensity of your team to minimum. Remember to return team pressing intensity to maximum after doing so.
We are the champions, bitches! Kinda expected since lowest division is so easy. With a squad of just eleven players (by the end I recalled two extra from loans due to injuries), a team predicted 17th can easily dominate and be champion, as long as your tactic is at least above average. Next season will be more of a challenge, since the gap between other teams and mine increase a bit, with Concord being the worst in league.

Also, I kinda hate the end of championships, when my team starts playing bad because of anxiety to the title and I feel like they will let it slip. That final run got me a bit nervous, even though I had a good advantage.

Now, I'll run a couple more of experiments on my own to decide if I will keep using Blue 3.0 or if I will move to Blue 3.0 RPM (aka Blue DM).

Next step is to dive into the market to do at least 30 trials a week to reveal player attributes, repeat that every week until I select 22 players for my squad next year. Only player that will continue is Jordan Aina (his contract goes to 2023), but I can keep someone else if I don't find better replacement.
zagor said: Thank you :) Im very old FM player and i always tried to create a tactic. Sometimes it works but usually it has mistakes and some lacks. I like offensive football. In this tactic no mistakes no lacks. Very successful. I just noticed 2 things. First, The opponent's greatest weapon is the counterattack. I only concede from counterattack but not every time. Second, individual mistakes and lack of fitness. It's not important, it should be :D
So you inspired me for try to create a tactic :D And I opened an account here just for you. :D
I will try it maybe i can. I wish you continued success.
I'm following you! :)

Best of luck to your tactic, then!

Mark said: I had one plaer like that in one of my games. I am pretty sure it was a reserve when he came on.

Those were all starters, though. It was 4 or 5 players.
Now at 30 matches in the league. League is almost won and I'm progressing well on FA Trophy. I usually win that lower cup in first season (P.S.: I talked to early, lost on quarter finals against a team from same league as me). Got two longer injuries (longest lasting three months), so I recalled two players from loan. I don't plan to renew contract with any of my players, as it's often better to just hire a new team after season is over. Since all players are pretty bad, you get interest of better players (even free agents) after your team increases reputation.

As a funny fact, I got a bug where half of my team played in black uniform, so it seemed as if three teams were in the field. Picture attached.
