CBP87 said: Morning, great work with smashing out these tactics tests. Is there any scope on perhaps testing the top 10 tactics from last year's game? Thanks Expand
I think they will test if someone creates a thread for them.
saycarramrod said: Not sure that it can be a direct comparison - but this being a full 2 stars lower than baseline is seemingly even more important than last year with the 1.4 star differential from baseline tactic. Expand
Can't compare for several reasons: 1. Attribute performance doesn't follow a linear formula, meaning 4 points to change from 5.5 to 3.5 doesn't mean each point is worth ~9% performance. 2. Higher score tactic hides more player attributes, meaning they make playes perform better with worse attributes. 3. Attributes can be dependant of others, like acceleration can be more valuable when you have more pace.
However, it's pretty clear that acceleration and all mobility attributes will have the highest impact on performance this year, just like last year. It's the same for most games about moving agents.
sandy said: tested ZAZ RED , NO HOLLIDAY!! impressive results congrads MR. ZaZ!! i don t understand why this tactic had just 5,5 pts on test becouse i won easy premierleague with bad team for my opinion... my plan was complet rebuild squad but the problem was nobody want buy my players first few good transfers was in januar... but for my opinion if Everton like this can win PL.... a little bit tronger team can do a mirracle... so one more time very good job and i recommand this tacc for everyone....!!! Expand
Thank you so much! Red is good, but Very Attacking can make the tactic a bit inconsistent (high risk, high reward). Like I used to say last year, any tactic with score 6+ can make you overachieve and win lots of titles, but FM22 didn't reach that yet. I believe we will start getting better tactics in the next few days.
Sane said: Zaz, do you have something interesting new? Looking forward to updating your tactics Expand
I'm testing some novel approaches to see if I get some big improvement, since we already have some relatively good tactics around. I'll be sure to post something new soon, but I'm not in a hurry.
Mark said: @ZaZ I had a quick look at corners for the top 10 tactics in my testing. Your ZaZ ones on 1.0b were the best followed by Fanecas. I used a copy of your set piece routines with a new tactic and achieved the same proportion of goal assists from corners. I am going to stick with it for future tactics.
I have one more tactic formation I want to test and then I will spend a bit of time playing until the next ME update. At the moment I will probably use Dragons Breath updated with your set pieces. I still think it is more than good enough to get me to the Sky Bet Championship from Vanarama North/South.
I retested Fanecas and it still didn't come close to ZaZs or Dragons Breath. Expand
I am looking for a breakthrough, since I don't think change in roles or positions will increase score much further. I believe I have found some hints, but need to keep testing so I don't post some misleading thing.
Asking or tagging people doesn't help you much in the queue system. If you want to know why a tactic wasn't tested yet, it's more polite to just ask them if something is missing.
I just created a new test league for testing, so I need to re-run the reference tests before I start testing again. After that, my tests will be more accurate, allowing me to get better tactics.
Jimmy said: I feel like the good score/performance of this tactic and ZaZ's one (compared to others) is mainly due to set pieces rather than the formation or instructions. Congrats. Expand
He was very clear that he based this tactic in two other successful tactics from FM21, so I don't get why you are saying results are only because of set pieces. Red uses the same set pieces and performs worse.
Mark said: Thanks. I mainly used Dragons Breath and Electro in Beta. Took Hungerford to the top of the VNS League and was offered the job at Scunthorpe who were last in L2. Took them to mid table pretty quickly. I still like the 4-1-3-0-2 formation which isn't far off last years winning formations. I am hoping they test Dragons Breath which tested so well for me in holiday mode.
I am still keen to try a few winning formations from 2020 and 2019. Then take the ones I think are best and the ones that are winning on FM Arena and give them a solid test in the lower leagues to get my starting tactic. Although, if any of mine are rated any good I will go with them. Expand
I just made a new test league with editor, now I'll start testing again from scratch, starting from Red and Blue (FM21).
Mark said: I have a few more days testing left and then might have a play with that thought. It kind of makes sense. What it might mean is that as you move through the divisions you very slowly increase the intensity. Are you talking Mentality and Tempo? Expand
Press intensity and tempo. Lowering one tick of each seemed better than lowering just one of them.
Gratz for the score! I've tried something like that during early beta and it went bad, but it seems like lots of stuff have changed with the match engine. Even Blue with SS improved a lot from Beta to release, so I guess I should start trying in that direction again.
Mark said: Not sure I agree with that. I think it is more that you can make a bigger impact with tactics at lower levels. With League 1 your tactic still finished 5th with an expectation of below 16th so I wouldn't say it is a bad result. Far from it, you would still be considered very successful with that result.
I would need to test more with the Leagues above to draw more conclusions I think.
FM Arena are marking low at the moment but I have had a lot of success using combinations of 3 or 4 tactics from here that seem very successful. Expand
I tried with three different tactics and everytime I lower intensity, lower team does better. It might be because of a completely different reason, but it seems to me that weaker teams don't have the intensity to keep up with higher intensity tactics. They still do well with them, but not as well as they would with lower intensity. I wish someone else could test it to see if the hypothesis stands.
You would need to convert to FM22 and add set pieces, player instructions and such. Can you load tactics from FM21 directly on FM22?
I think they would want at the very least to have all 10 tactics for plug and play, instead of having to convert it themselves.
I think they will test if someone creates a thread for them.

Same as Blue. Link in first post.

Thanks for your efforts.
Probably only after the queue is empty.
