@Telespiza has tested almost all preset tactics - https://fm-arena.com/table/23-patch-23-5-0-n/?author_name=Telespiza#options

No.

As usual, SI makes the last M.E. update in January/February and around that time they start working on the next FM version.

So the M.E. for FM23 was "sealed" long time ago.
@Delicious I think, there's also another important factor to consider, I mean it's obvious that "Speed" is everything in FM but DMs and CBs are the most slowest guys among all positions so I really don't think it's a good idea to use them at the position when you need the faster guys available
Delicious said: I would go for central backs that can play left or right. Since they play basically as DM role on building up

Btw, fm-arena uses regular full-backs to test tactics and as we can see it works just great with IWBs roles so I really don't see what's the point in using DMs or CBs as IWBs... it's like "inventing a wheel" when it's been proved that regular full-backs work just fine.

The problem with this tactic and any other tactic that uses ML/MR positions that there's almost no "natural" ML/MR players in the game so you have to train your Wingers to play ML/MR positions and it might take a lot of time but the position rating has a significant influence - https://fm-arena.com/table/19-playing-position-testing/
ZaZ said: It's free for some specific cases, like training positions with the same attribute weights (like opposite side for wingers or wingbacks).

Yes. That's true.

If it's just the opposite side of the field then it's free.
Mark said: All of my players who were learning new positions increased CA quicker than those that weren't. I haven't done extensive testing, it is just an observation.

For example, if you train a pure striker to play also AM and Winger then when he reaches his PA then his attributes will be lower than if he stayed a pure striker.

I don't say that training additional positions is a bad thing, I just wanted to point out that it isn't "for free" and there's a price for it. People should understand it.
Cherknam said: I didn't know that, I thought learning a new position took up some of their CA and therefore lowered their potential attributes.

That's correct.

Learning a new position is always a trade off form some attributes levels. Not always it's a big trade off but still.

You can't train players additional positions "for free" in FM, if it was possible then you would want to train them as many additional positions as possible.
I find there's no point in using any other mentality than Balanced because other mentalities lose significantly to Balanced.

Except, Cautious mentality because you need it for creating an "energy saving tactic" - https://fm-arena.com/thread/3241-adjusting-the-intensity-of-your-tactic-during-matches/
Delicious said: I mean if he wanted to hide it, he would've just removed the screen with the fitness part... That's how i do find out when people as you say "cheat" in order to get "viewers", attention.

I agree, it's not a big deal... no one dies :)

I just want to say that if you have a chance to test your tactic then for God sake do it properly even it might be meaningless 38 matches, no need to make it prettier than it is because anyway, there'll be an fm-arena test that reveals everything.
I agree with @CBP87, if you "cheat" ( use editors/save/load whatever ) then there's no point in sharing your result.

I wouldn't call it "mislead people" because anyway there's little faith in what people post these days and sooner or later we'll get fm-arena test result but anyway when you post something like that then you just waste other people time because there's nothing "useful" at all in your result.
MakeSuRE said: Besides, freezing just give a better initial evaluation for one tactic in my testing folders by controlling variables, like what happened in the arena test.

Yes, but there's a big difference between what you do and what fm-arena does, fm-arena freezes all the teams in the league but you freeze only your team and that gives your team a huge advantage over the AI teams.

Here're the changes in the patch:

- Addressed an issue where 'Add/Remove Leagues' was adding newgens as opposed to real players
- [FM23 Editor] Fixed an issue where specific editor files failed to be verified
- [FM23 Console] Addressed an issue where users were unable to start Versus mode with imported teams

https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/575363-fm23-china-data-update-available-now/

The M.E. hasn't changed and there's no other changes that might have an impact on the gameplay.
No offence, but to take this into consideration seriously you need to back it up with statistic which is no less than 10 season length, I mean you need to compare 10 seasons before the update and 10 season after the update. Anything less than that can't be taken into consideration seriously.

The game RNG is huge, for example, you might not lose a single match in the 5 previous seasons but suddenly you have 3 loses in row in the current season and if something like that happens then it would be a normal thing.
Mlacks said: Ok, thanks. This New testing league gives a better representation of the best tactics?

Yes, it gives a better representation.
Mlacks said: Normally I use tactics from this website. I just cant make a good tactic by myself. I just noticed that there are 2 different tables for the patch Patch 23.5.0 (N and Non-N), whats the difference? I checked on Google and I cant find the N patch. Is the Non-N table obsolete?

it's just a new tactic testing league - https://fm-arena.com/thread/5321-incoming-improvement-to-fm-arena-tactic-testing-league/
ZaZ said: Buying fast players is better on 99% of cases, because you can never be too sure how far young players will reach. Even a player with 200 PA can never reach 16+ Pace and Acceleration if he starts with low speed, so I would rather focus my efforts on hiring players with a head start.

That's true.

Physical attributes are very hard to develop. Probably, it's in line with real life because imagine would it be realistic if a very slow guy like Olivier Giroud suddenly turns into Hussein Bolt or Mbappe.
I guess there's no many guides about the team talks because the team talks are very repetitive and boring so most player delegate it to the assistant manager.

But honestly, if you're gonna do it yourself then it isn't hard to find a proper team talk for a specific situation, you just need to consider these factors:

- Is this a home or away match?
- Are you winning, drawing or losing?
- Are you underdog or favorite?
- Are you loosing or winning by a small margin like 1 goal or by a huge margin like 3+ goal?

Just experiment for few hours doing save/load and you'll find a proper team talk for every situation.

It isn't hard at all.

it's just a new tactic testing league - https://fm-arena.com/thread/5321-incoming-improvement-to-fm-arena-tactic-testing-league/
