Don't trust in your scouts for potential. As a basic rule, good players at young age usually have more potential than bad players at young age. If you find a kid with 15-16 years old and 13+ pace and agility, sign him.

They usually perform badly in any tactic using this formation. For attributes, I usually look for PAce, Acceleration, Agility and Jumping Reach.
Egraam said: You can also arrange friendlies against very weak teams and play them in those in the desired position. This is probably the best method if you want to do it as fast as possible and can't really afford to play them in league matches when they are unfamiliar with the position.

You can also arrange friendlies with the reserve team and make them available, or even take command to make sure they are played in the right position. I usually do that when my second team players need match fitness.
ta2199 said: @ZaZ Whats your method to retrain players to new position ? I usually let player has individual training + Double Training Intensity + Add them to mentoring group.
Is this the fastest way ?

Just like @Rince said, training focus and playing time in the position. I usually bring them as subs when the match is already won, at least until they become accomplished. There isn't much difference between accomplished and natural players, so after that point you can just use the best player.
pixar said: Really great tactic. I'm playing with a 90 percent win rate. The producer has thought of everything. congratulations.
I read all the posts in this post, and I check it every few days. I formed an emotional bond with the tactic.
I have only one wish from the producer. publish player traits recommendations for all positions.
thanks for your efforts.

Thank you so much! Unfortunatelly, there isn't much to say about player traits. Just add traits that reinforce the roles (based on player instructions). For example, Move Into Channels to Shadow Strikers.
Zealot said: what do you mean?

I suppose he means what kind of player for these positions.
dingus said: what makes all these 0 striker formations so good this patch? i feel like they won't be so good for long

Well, this is it for FM21. Maybe it will change on FM22, but there won't be any more match engine patches for this version.

Same as side.

First page (of Blue 3.0).
This question pops up here every other week, so I decided to make a topic for people to share how they do it.

These are my ten steps to hire a player:
1. Go to player search and make sure transfer interest box is marked.
2. Add a filter for position, age, nationality and key attributes, then set it to the desired values.
--- For example: accomplished ML, under 23 years old, UK and Irish region, Acceleration 14+, Pace 14+, Agility 12+, Dribbling 12+.
3. If too many players appear, increase the key attributes.
4. Change the view to show key attributes (set it to physical attributes or add new columns).
5. Sort the table by a key attribute, usually Acceleration or Pace.
6. Check players individually. If they are acceptable, right click and ask agent for availability.
7. If cost is ok, ask for a scout report to reveal a bit and maybe see some hidden attributes.
8. Add good players to a shortlist and ask for a trial or to scout for one more week.
9. Make offer for the best players for the desired position.
10. Stall signings until all players reach an agreement, then choose the best and cancel all others.

Please, make sure to also share your methods so we can compare and get some good hints.
This formation wasn't tested yet in FM-Arena, so I wanted to know how it performs. I'm just trying new shapes to see if some of them is useful and to give people inspiration for new tactics. Basic instructions are from Blue.

This formation wasn't tested yet in FM-Arena, so I wanted to know how it performs. There is actually no tactic with three defenders and three defensive midfielders. Basic instructions are from Blue.

crazyfmguy93 said: Hey people, do hidden attributes develop? Like Ambition, Pressure, Sportsmanship, Professionalism and Loyalty

No.

P.S.: Actually, every now and then you get a message saying your player personality got influenced by the squad general characteristics, which I suppose is a development to hidden attributes.
Maxieplang said: Hello! Thank you for all the information you have provided so far, this thread is great.

I was just wondering which pitch dimensions you found to be most effective on this tactic? My instinct says you would want the pitch dimensions to be wide to allow your players to fully utilise their pace advantage, but perhaps narrow pitch dimensions would get the best out of the two shadow strikers.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks!

I always choose as big as possible. The longer the pitch, the more space behind defenders, making through balls more effective. The wider the pitch, the more space between players, creating more opportunities to run into space for those through balls. I might be wrong, but it usually works for me.
famulor said: Uuuuh a lil sumthin' sumthin' :D it know it tested lower than Blue but how did your own testing compare to blue?

I did only one test (with each mentality) to get a screenshot, so it's impossible to compare. I already expected it to be worse than Blue, but I still wanted to know if this formation would achieve anything. However, I don't think this formation is good enough to invest time on, I feel like it doesn't have the potential to beat Void or Afterlife, for example, even if I used similar roles or instructions.
This formation (4-2-1-3 DM Narrow without FW) wasn't tested yet in FM-Arena, so I wanted to know how it performs. I tested in both Positive and Very Attacking mentality, with positive showing slightly better results. Basic instructions are from Blue.

If I can give my opinion, I think the "flaw" of @Mark's model is to give importance to Genie Scout's default weighting. I agree that it should consider FM-Arena's table and the cost of attributes, but I don't see the point of using the default weights in the formula.

Not a big deal since he can have a different opinion and I respect the amount of work he put into it.
In squad screen, you can select registration in the top left of the screen and register if it's not past the time yet.
famulor said: Is the difference between blue, light blue & dark blue only the mentality?

No, Light Blue also has stay on feet to reduce yellow cards.
